McCarthy's Going to be Coach of the Year

If the season manages to get off the ground, I believe McCarthy and Co. will come out of the gate fast, reel off 10 -11 win for the division title on the way to coach of the year honors for the big guy.

A trip to play for the Halas Trophy would not be a surprise. This team has been loaded for 4 years and now the Cowboys have someone who can do something special with talent.

That's gonna be tough because if he wins, that's because of Dak so he won't get it. If he loses its 100% his fault so he won't get it.

Game day management alone cost us 3-4 games last year. Garrett *so* deserved to get canned.

McCarthy walked into a very good situation which got better with free agency and the draft. Except for being robbed of time to install the new defense, the stars have aligned for him to look like a genius.

10 or 11 wins wont get him coach of the year. 13 might do it.

I agree. He has walked into about as good a situation as he could hope for.

With the Cowboys it will always be about winning in January. How many games the Cowboys win will be overshadowed by their wins or losses then. A trip to the NFC Championship game will probably be enough for him to win Coach of the Year.

Taking a team to the division title as a new HC with no access to the players or facilities until ??? will be worth a couple of wins.

Big Mike has some huge problems ahead.

Dak thinks he is the leader of the team, not McCarthy.

McCarthy is either going to get him corrected or watch for Dalton to start by the Bye Week.

Big Mike has not gone thru a season of Jerrah's meddling. Give it time. Jerrah is like a rattlesnake bite.

He bites you and in awhile, you start sweating and can't inhale.

He has no idea how this staff is going to work. None of this staff other than Mike were highly successful where they were. Their teams did not fight to keep them for the most part.

And lastly..Mickey is going to need lots of luck avoiding injuries. Injuries hurt our OL and LBers last year and it really affected 4th Qt play where we lost nearly all of our games with Dak unable to overcome big leads.

That all has to change for Mike to even get interviews post game.

Some need to tap the breaks on the McCarthy hype train. He seems to have embraced analytics, which is very encouraging, but his offensive schemes in Green Bay left a lot to be desired, and are only a marginal upgrade over Garrett's.

Its come to the point you cant post anything decent or positive about this team that doesnt result in negative responses. I'm not always in agreement with everything this team does and I see flaws just like everyone else. There will be two sides to every argument and you dont have to like everyones opinion but I swear there are people on this forum that just crap on threads like this just because its who they are.

Who knows if MM can win coach of the year but that would be awesome if he did. We dont know what the future brings but if there are people like the OP that feel this way? I think it's good to see/read on here once in a while.

Now someone can go rip this response and somehow turn it into either a Dak contract dispute, Jerry is an egomaniac who wont allow success, Stephen is as bad as Jerry, Zeke shouldn't have been drafted where he was, etc. etc....

I like Big Mac. I really do. But I don't see him shooting out of the gate and running rampant over anybody (unless he's in Pamplona, Spain at the Running of the Bulls). Then look out.

He'll do well. But he'll lose his share too.
