Right. And I really wouldn't even have a issue with him being higher......I just get why he's where he's at. Its not like putting Dak in front of Aikman and Roger. They actually accomplished things Dak hasn't. The only thing Romo has on Dak is he's played longer.
People don’t get it. The story hasn’t been written on Prescott yet they shouldn’t even be making these comparisons. But we’re bored so

But this brings into question what are we discussing?

Personal passing ratings or team accomplishments.

That was the best thing about Gill. What his college knowledge contacts. Jerry had that initially with Jimmy. That’s what’s been missing in our draft room. Hello I’m having a senior moment because I like the guy who’s doing it now for us
Would you like him if he placed Dak like 5th or 6th?

This comes down to aligning yourself with opinions you agree with.

Haha he must of wanted to piss off the Romo stans
No, I believe Gil’s intent was to promote support for Dak amongst all of the criticism. Gil was kinda of a homer in that regard, especially if it was someone he touted early on.

Here's my question.

What is the criteria you are judging? Wins? playoff wins? clutch situations? stats? length of career?

Meredith had a 50% career comp % He couldn't even be a starter on a team today. Aikman career average per game was 199 yards. White, Staubach and Meredith all played in an era that wasn't as wide open and less games a season.

Here would be my list.

Staubach - 85-29 as a starter. 11-6 playoff record 2 SB wins, SB MVP, 6 Pro Bowls, 3rd in 4th quarter comebacks, 2nd in game winning drives.
Aikman - 94-71 as a starter. 11-4 playoff record 3 SB wins, SB MVP, 6 Pro Bowls, most attempts and completions, but also most picks.
Romo - 78-49 as a starter. 2-3 playoff record holds club records for TD's, yards, completion%, YPA, QBR, 1st in 4th quarter comebacks, 1st in game winning drives.

Seventy-five of Romo's 248 career touchdown passes came in the fourth quarter. That's three more fourth-quarter touchdown passes than Staubach and Aikman had combined.

These three stand apart from the rest of the field, at least for now.

Much harder to list the next two. I'd have to leave Meredith off the list. How Brandt has him over Romo is beyond me. Romo has TWICE as many yards passing, TWICE as many TD's as Meredith. Maybe Gil was a fan of North Dallas Forty or Willy Nelson's "turn out the lights the party's over." He did get to the championship game twice, but lost both, one by a bad pick at the end.

I'd have White and Dak a really close 4 and 5. I imagine Dak is going to pass him stat wise in the next year or so, White has the 5-5 playoff record, but Dak will overtake him in a several categories in the next couple years. Ironically, Dak is in the same boat Romo was in at this point in their careers. Pretty good, but still waiting for them to take the next step.
Fans are so stupid relying on stats only. It’s almost like they don’t know there’s so much more to being an excellent QB.

What, you want him to fail?

I honestly think some of these guys want Prescott to fail so they can say " we told you", personally I see that list is pretty accurate but I would put Romo slightly ahead of Dak or even 3a and 3b split

Right

Stats place Romo and Dak as the 4th and 6th best passer rating All Time in the NFL. Staubach is 48th and Aikman is 61st.

Im beginning to believe Fantasy Football has created a false narrative amongst fans.

I don’t really understand your question. All I’m saying is he has very good contacts. He had a lot of insight about young players. Where he drafted him that’s a whole Nother subject

I wasn’t even replying to the order of where he placed anyone. I was talking to somebody else about a different subject. So keep up

Now Gil is senile, old, has dementia and alzheimers. Dak haters are turning on everyone, lol.

Way too early in his career to be putting him at #3.
He’s already #6 All Time passer rating. Which has surpassed every QB in Cowboy history by a landslide but Romo. What else do we need to see ?:)

In my opinion, Danny White should be number 3. He took aging teams and slowly dwindling defenses to the verge of the SB more than once.

I’m fine with Romo fifth because all he accomplished was racking up stats. Place the blame where you will, but Romo never won anything.

Dak is not as good now as Romo was in his prime, but he is far better than Romo was at this age. I only place Dak ahead of him because Dak Protects the ball much better than Romo did early in his career, and because there is still hope for Dak, while Romo is what he is.....a QB of impressive stats, nothing more. Again, place that blame on Jerry or whomever, but it is still Romo’s legacy.

Gil was able to physically see and experience Merediths' games and career and i'm not recalling many YouTubes of his games available where i
can go through a good number of them to observe him for myself either. Just highlights ...and it's a reason why they call them "highlights" without
seeing the low parts.
So i entrust my observations and judgment call on those i am able to see them play thouroughly.

1 Roger Staubach
2 Troy Aikman
3 Dak Prescott
4 Tony Romo
5 Danny White

so apologies to Meredith, Craig Morton ,......
