Gil does not believe it. He put Dak there because dak is the current quarterback, and fans are creatures of the moment. Same reason best of the last hundred years lists have only players from the last twenty.

The media itself manipulated the opinion of Romo to football fans and specifically Cowboys fans. While Gil is giving his opinion; he is a part of the media at this point.

For me personally I always looked at Romo as a gift and a curse. I always believed we had a chance with him at QB but was never surprised when he made huge mistakes.

Gil’s been touting Dak since he was drafted . Long before he ever took a snap or the Slobberers hopped on. Lol

And if Dak and the team ultimately have more success than the rest of QB’s in Cowboy history then Dak will most likely be placed on a pedestal much like Troy and Roger are.

Gil has always been the Homer type in addition to promoting the guys he touts and I’d say he thinks Dak has the potential to take us to a higher level than the rest in Cowboys history. Time will tell. Hope he’s right!

Dak has had that “ it” factor since his Rookie season. He’s a play maker. My criticism has always been about his pure prolific passing ability. And struggles against more elite teams.

But the comment I responded to indicated Brandt was saying something different than fans, not that he was saying the same thing as fans. Besides, Romo is retired, and Brandt isn't a media guy that makes his living stirring up controversy like Skip Bayless and others anyway.

I had a similar view of Romo early on. He made the big plays, but he threw a lot of INT's, including some with the game on the line. But that improved over time, and he became more efficient and made fewer mistakes. His career numbers actually ended up looking good in that department. But, for whatever reason we weren't able to get over the hump with him, but I think there is more to blame for that than just Romo himself.

Not this guy I wanted Dak in the 16 draft as high as the 2nd round. He only fell because of the dui which was later dismissed. Starkville, MS real shocker there. I have texts to my brother saved during the draft after round 1 we need to take Dak. Anyone that followed his team his junior and senior year knows he was a baller.

When we drafted Dak I immediately told friends, family co workers that Romo better not get hurt because he won't get his job back. When Romo got injured during that preseason game my phone was blowing up. I like to think me and Gil see eye to eye on this one

I'm not too concerned - the gap between 2 and 3 is huge. There's Roger, Troy, and everyone else. You could make a case for any order 3, 4, and 5 and you wouldn't be wrong.

Goff average QBR: exactly 22nd

Really (in bold^^^)??? What games have you been watching the past 4 years? Certainly doesn't sound like you've been watching Cowboys games. If you had, you would know Dak has greatly improved his throwing ability, has consistently been in the top 5 in just about every QB statistical category, and he has definitely led this team to wins against some elite teams with top defenses.
