Daryl Worley
Draft: 6-1, 204
NFL Listing 6-1, 215
33-3/8" arms
10-1/4 hands
Combine 4.52 HH Forty Time

Computing top speed based on the different in his 10 yard and 40 yards times:
Worley: 21.2 mph
Jeff Okudah: 20.94
Kristian Fulton: 20.99

I reviewed 2 games (Green Bay and KC).

I picked those 2 because the Raiders gave up a lot of points in those games.
GB scored 42 and KC scored 40.

In the KC game up to the beginning of Q4 he gave up 1 completion for about 7 yards by my count.
- He had a really good pass breakup vs KC's TE Kelce.
- He started the game aligned as one of the 2-deep Safeties.
- He played RCB, LCB and covered the slot WR, 2-deep Safety, single-high FS and SS.
- He was often matched up vs Tyreek Hill in man coverage.
- He looked more comfortable at RCB than LCB.

In the GB game they started targeting him at the end of the 2nd quarter when he was at LCB.
- He gave up a a few shorter passes then 1 long pass.
- He appeared to be playing zone but there was no defender behind him.
- They moved him to RCB after the long pass completion.
- He gave up another somewhat long pass.
- Again he appeared to be playing zone but there was no defender behind him.
- On both long passes he could have defended the player that caught the pass if he was not trying to also defend underneath.

Overall nothing Wow but solid pass defense and decent tackler..

Just curious...………..do you watch the coaching footage where you can see the whole field or are you just rewatching the TV version?

Sounds like your journeyman average corner that lacks play making ability. JAG

Are there mph speeds on Diggs & Robinson?

It is simple math:

1 mile/hour = 5280 feet/60 minutes = 1760 yards/3600 seconds = 0.48889 yards/sec

Daryl Worley 40 yard dash:
  • 10 yard split = 1.64 sec = 6.10 yps / 0.48889 yps = 12.47 mph
  • 20 yard split = 2.70 sec = 7.41 yps / 0.48889 yps = 15.15 mph
  • 40 yards = 4.64 sec = 8.62 yps / 0.48889 yps = 17.63 mph
Worley's times look really unimpressive, but his issue was a very slow start - which could mean he just doesn't start well. When break out is times by splits, here is what you get
  • 1st 10 yards in 1.64 seconds = 12.47 mph
  • 2nd 10 yards = 1.06 seconds = 19.30 mph
  • last 20 yards in 1.94 seconds (average of 0.97 sec per 10 yard split) = 21.09 mph
What that means is Worley doesn't get out of his sprinter stance well. But once he starts running, he picks up speed very quickly. The good news in that in the NFL, Worley will never start running from a sprinter stance.

We’re did these time come from? I thought he ran a 4.64 forty at the combine and 4.61 at his pro day. His top speed was 17.63 mph.

And often struggles in coverage. They weren't trying to keep him in Las Vegas.

They let go of Khalil Mack, and Amari Cooper, too. o_O Raiders aren't exactly the smartest organization, and seem to have a tough time keeping talent. Not to compare Worley to these two players by any means. I'd just like to see what the guy can do in Dallas before declaring him a JAG. :)

Worley was on the open market for 2 months without being signed

He sounds like an versatile, quality backup who can spot start if needed. Is he a long-term answer for the Cowboys? No, but his signing makes sense after they just drafted two corners. He will provide insurance if the prospects aren't ready.

xwalker infamously always uses bogus pro day times and numbers.

He doesn’t comprehend why the combine times/numbers should be used as the baseline.

Solid depth. Appears to have the size they prefer.

I'm also hoping guys like this prevent having 10 dudes named Covington trying to cover a kick in an awful way.

He's nothing more than reliable depth or maybe a role player, but is a way better signing than someone like Waynes or Darby.
