They needed help on defense from any and all sources.

They did a very good job of that....along the DL anyway, and probably corner.

They will probably ask Smith to play, what, 12-15 snaps a game in a rotation? He should be pretty effective given his skillset and the shape he is in.

He didnt forget how to play. Maybe he will be a hair slower but him at 80% of his peak I'll take all day.

Looking forward to seeing him play.

I bet he more than earns his $2m dollars this season. Heck we have backups nobody wants on the field making that much..

It's really tough. Football aside, I hope he makes it and continues a good program to stay away from drinking. I'm encouraged by his attitude and the article is spot on. When you stop blaming others and start pointing to the face in the mirror, it is the turning point to finding your self on the right path.

But staying on that right path? It's tough. I wish him the best.....football aside.

However, as far as football is concerned? A committed determined Aldon Smith would be phenomenol!

We are not "lucky" to be able to sign people like this. We have a GM who does not have to worry about his job. He thinks it gives us some sort of advantage because we can do any old crazy thing we want. In reality it is our curse. And the paid happy fans just keep on pumping. It is sad really.
So, we can mark together down as a “no” on the Aldon Smith signing.

Got it

Smith is going to be good for this D. I'm looking forward to seeing him get after it.

Same here, I'm all in to see what he can do. Hey we need a good DE. If he's got his act together, let's go for it! :flagwave:

If this guy is half the player he was then it will be awesome. With him and D-Law on the other side we will have a good pass rush. And Gregory along with the others.

How is it that people believe there is no "risk" in trying to fill our DE position with Smith and Gregory. They are the very definition of risk. And if they don't work out we fall back on guys like Crawford. LOL. Yeah real solid plan.
