Jones’s will eventually cave to all of their demands because at the end of the day Dak is great for their business and will keep us relevant in the media.
Dallas has been relevant in the media way before Dak was even born, and will be relevant after he retires. This team is bigger than any player.

What the jones boys should do is , say they are pulling the current offer off the table, and are now planning on starting dalton, and rescinding the tag.
and tell dak they are not going to deal at all with france, and see what happens.

Do you think Dak is the only Cowboy represented by Todd France?
Technically not anymore, but France represents Maliek Collins as well.

I wanna say Romo dumped his longtime agent a few years ago as well and now uses France for his broadcasting career.

Dak cannot go to the facility yet and there is no deadline until July. It's going ot be a long 6 weeks cause there is nearly nil chance either side will start negotiations for a month.

I think France's issue is that he arrogantly is trying to get a team to overpay for his guy.

France represents Aaron Donald, Fletcher Cox, and DeAndre Hopkins and all three of those guys got big pay days with no pushback. Because they're elite.

I like Dak, but he isn't elite, so there is some discussion. That all being said, the Jones boys will eventually cave to their demands and strangle our cap space for years to come. It's what they do.

If Dak isn't elite, then nether was Aikman or Romo.

No one said a word about Tony Romo.

And your mention of Aikman tells me all I need to know about you. If Dak accomplishes a third of what Troy did in the postseason, then I'd be fine paying him his money.

I followed his entire career. Career 61.5% completions. 165 TD's/141 INT's.

no pushback? Lmao. Aaron Donald has to hold our, Nuk just got teased for nothing because he was grossly underpaid and asked to renegotiate. Stop it.

Also none of them is a quarterback

So cynical aren't you.

I think he is right. Jerry may suck as a GM but he has always been a master PR Director. We haven’t won anything in over 20 years but Jerry keeps the Cowboys winning the Media Bowl. And keeps people watching games and buying tickets and staying relevant without winning. Watch the sports media on every outlet and the Dak drama is a leading topic multiple times a day; radio, print, and talk shows. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry’s plan was to stretch this out for the media coverage and then do the money deal he would have done 6 months ago. This is the same Jerry who got the Cowboys a week of media coverage by thinking about Dez in the shower.

I use to think it’s a choice to always be negative and cynical like many posters here are. But now I believe their past lives have led them to be who they are.

My one and only Dak contract thread, since we don't have enough here. When will OTAs start!!!

Maybe the FO is just sick of Todd France. They know if they sign Dak to a shorter contract they will have to deal with this guy again soon. Somewhere in the back of my mind I think there were a few players in the past that were either FA, or players we didn't resign because the FO did not get along with the agent and just didn't want to work with them.

Could this be the case here?
Spend some draft capital and draft a qb that you can afford for a while. Also, spend time developing a young qb with talent instead of grabbing no names off the UDFA scrap heap.

The agent's job is to get the best possible deal for his Client. The Player is also trying to get the best deal for himself after being a starter for a number years being paid way less than most starting QBs are paid.

The only Agent I can recall the cowboys having a real big issue was with the Poston(s) and that was when Bill Parcells was here and in part was why they passed up on Stephen Jackson.
