Some good info from Mickey about MM and how he wants to run TC. And how having it at the Star plays into that. He prefers morning padded practice, walk through in the afternoon. This is opposite of how they did it in Oxnard, which sounds like he did not like. But with the weather here, the padded practices better for in the morning. Also MM did not like all the grass practice fields in Oxnard, supposedly.

Also he said it was missed, as someone pointed it put to him, that last year Anthony Dickerson had passed away. Sounds from complications from a fall at his home.

Mickey should be glad he does not have to risk his life riding in that Cowboys bus all the way to Oxnard this year.

Its the Ventura Freeway, Mick.

In 50 plus years I've never heard anyone call it the Ventura Highway.

Are you in CA? Is it a CA thing. Because the song sounds much better as Ventura highway as opposed to Ventura Freeway.

So most non CA residents know it as Highway.
Mickey is from Chicago, so he really would not know to CA persons it is Freeway.

It is the same as many people get song lyrics incorrect, but somehow never correct themselves when told otherwise.

No one in CA says Ventura Highway. Ever.

Don't make a local reference if you can't get it right.

And that lame song is written by guys who were not from CA either

So there is kind of a little backstory to this Jazzie. So as you know, America cut this song back in the 70s and when they did, it was actually about a kid from Omaha standing on the side of the road, while his Dad changed a flat tire. Being from Omaha, he'd never ever seen the Ocean or just the whole California thing in his life. Imagine coming from Omaha, corn fields as far as the eye can see, cold winters that seem to last forever, little towns with not much to do and you see California? Well, that was it. That experience, lead to the song, Ventura Highway. In truth, there is no Ventura Highway, it's actually the Pacific Coast Highway that the song is written about but it was called Ventura Highway because the boy saw a sign that said "Ventura". It's actually the stretch of Highway between Vandenberg and Lompoc. That boy was Dewey Bunnell, who was the lead singer from America.

More proof that McCarthy is calling the shots NOT Jerry Jones.

You misread, he did like having two grass fields in Oxnard, but there is only one in Frisco.
