Tyron is a solid answer. I might lean towards Martin because he’s had more 1st team All Pro I believe . Possibly more dominating at his position right out of the gate his Rookie season and when our running game became so dominant.

Being the best at your position in the league could be the definition of best on a franchise.

He is on the 2010s NFL All decade team. He very well might.

Tell that to Drew Pearson, Harvey Martin, Mark Stepnoski, and Ralph Neely.

I think Tyron might end up being borderline. If it weren't for injuries then he probably would be a shoe in.

lol... the resident space cadet is the first one to be triggered by Romo. I won’t lie I thought it would be one of the other trolls. What a joke.

I will say Tyron Smith. Of all the candidates he had the most high quality years of the decade, even if he wasn’t the best overall player (though he might have been).
"Space cadet" hahaha amazing! Such an underused term.

I also went for Tyron Smith given his longevity of excellence.

Bar '14 (which didn't have a defense) Romo kept crap teams relevant throughout the decade during his tenure.

Tyron Smith is not going to the HOF.

There's literally zero chance Tyron doesn't make the hall of fame. He's the 2nd best tackle for the entire 2010 decade

1st team all-decade at a premier position (QB, DE, LT) is a shoe in. Tyron at only 29 arguably has better accolades and better repuation than Orland Pace

If you want cutoff or boderline your looking at someone like Trent Williams or Joe Staley. There the "borderline", not Tyron

That might be a stretch.
Tyron is one of the most accomplished in the league at his position
Not only that it's a premier position which are valued much higher than say a cornerback or a center. Tyron is the only player on our current roster that if retired today would make Canton. Someone whoses barely on the outside looking in at tackle is someone like Joe Staley or Trent Williams.

Players like Joe Thomas, Tyron Smith, and Jason Peters are locks

I usually go off of pro-football reference to see how they weigh hall of fame chances. I mean they have Tyron ranked below Ralph Neely still.

I voted Zack Martin. Six seasons, six Pro Bowls, and more importantly six all-pro selections.

Martin is on a Hall Of Fame pace.

Martin is 1st Cowboys make 6 consecutive All Pro from his Rookie season ?

Lilly made All Pro 6 consecutive times from 1964-1969.

Lilly made All Pro 6 consecutive times from 1964-1969 and again in 1971. Without looking it up I believe that’s the most of any Cowboys player.

True about Lilly but I'm only ranking players from the 2010's. Plus I think Martin may be the only offensive lineman to do that, but I could be wrong.

Just because the players you mentioned aren’t in the HOF now doesn’t mean they will never be in eventually. Drew will get in someday I think. Martin and Neely may also get their shots. Mark Stepnoski I have no idea. He was a great center for us but he has no all pro seasons under his belt. I wasn’t even aware he was on an All Decade team (can’t see how he made one with no all pro seasons).

I think Stepnoski was second team all-pro 3 times, but yeah I don't know either.

Drew should have gotten in this year, but oh well. Carmichael shouldn't have been in before Pearson or Cliff Branch. Of course I also think both Chuck Howley and Harvey Martin are the most disrespected Cowboys when it comes to the hall of fame and both should be in before Pearson.

Had the sack statistic been a thing during most of his playing career, people would put some respect on Harvey Martin's name.

Gil Brandt swears up and down on NFL Radio often that he would have the single season sack record (and not Strahan) had the sack been a thing at the time.

Well there's your problem. It's not a great metric to be honest. They have Pace for example almost 15 points below the thresshold yet he got in his 2nd year of elgibility all while arguably having both worst accolades and reputation than Tyron.

Trying to create a computer average itself is flawed too since most positions are top heavy in the average . It's like hockey having 3 different 600 goal players get in along with a 400 goal scorer and then trying to say "oh someone with 475 goals can't get in because the average is 550 for entry".

There is literally zero chance that Tyron doesn't make hall of fame. Him, Thomas, and Peters are locks

IMO, Martin, Smith, and Romo are the only legit answers. Witten didn't play at as high a level as those 3 did, at least not for the whole decade.

Zack Martin, Tyron Smith and Jason Witten are the only certain HOFers on that list imo, but Zack has more individual accomplishments. I don’t think it’s up for debate imo.
It is up for debate that's why they did a poll

Yeah he unofficially had 23 sacks the year he won defensive player of the year. Of course I've heard Deacon Jones had 26 one season. This was back when they were playing 14 game seasons too.

Interesting.
...
No one has criticized Sean Lee more than I.
Yet, He is my choice.
Steadfast, loyal, hard hits, good citizen.
He's a paradox. A brittle man yet still standing. Willing to give us 100% on each limited play.
Sounds good to me you workaday beer swilling populace!
When the out-of-work DEZ called Sean "The Snake," I flinched.
From thence, Sean is golden, Dez not so much.

Roadies and contractors, thanks for the cards.
(Biting my fist and running into the dark forest)
Sean Lee was my choice too

Romo gave me the most enjoyment of watching a football player in my lifetime. He was absolutely special in his abilities!
