just say no. it would not be prudent to expose him to the extra opportunity to be injured.

Better not play him when we are up two scores either, cause what happens if he gets injured?
Or the 1st quarter either, just in case.
Or at all in the preseason or training camp for that matter. Could you imagine if he gets injured in practice???
Ban all tackling too in practice. Can't take that risk boys.

Yup, iirc Moose played on special teams - and he was a BIG piece of the running attack.

He wasn't returning kicks though. Brock Marion did. Dez returned punts , then broke his ankle/leg.

In no way do I put Lamb back there. Wilson or someone else, fine. It's a passing league now. Coop, Gallup and Lamb. Yeah, I am liking that and not risking losing Lamb on a 10 yard gain PR. Or KR.

We’ve been using our third receiver as punt returners. Cobb had 4 punt returns last year as a situational returner. They trusted his hands more than Austin’s.

So fans are upset about our poor starting field position last year, yet are willing to put punt returns in the hands of a lesser player just because there's the risk of injury.

If Lamb is the best player for the position, then he should be the starting punt returner.

The risk to injury is more probable to the the guys not returning the kicks - that why you saw some rule changes to the blocking schemes.
I believe injuries to returners is pretty low...again to me, you cant play scared.
And its not just about a "10 yard gain", I remind you of the Rams game a few years ago and how Ryan Switzer effected that game.

CeeDee can learn to do both KR and PR. Pollard needs to focus on his expanded offensive role (I hope he gets). ;)

How many accounts does JG have in this thread?

If Lamb is a level above everyone else as a PR, he should be out there in big situations. We don't even know if he is better than anyone else yet before taking away the opportunity, problem with the JG regime was giving something to someone that doesn't deserve it.

Let Lamb earn his right to deserve to be too 'precious' to do it.

He is not a star yet.

I know what you mean, but many star players have been returners.
Maybe he does not need to be the PR 100% but in key situations, he can be a threat.

He will be. No sense ruining his career returning punts or kickoffs.

In the playoffs, I have no issues.

Just give me a guy who won't fumble. Sometimes a fair catch will suffice.

Let Cedric Wilson do punt returns. Besides I don't think CeeDee was prolific at returning punts.. was he?
