t didn’t take long for the Cowboys to retool, though, as they added veterans Gerald McCoy, Dontari Poe, and Ha Ha Clinton-Dix in free agency. During the NFL Draft, Trevon Diggs and Reggie Robinson were selected to bolster the cornerback position. However, Neville Gallimore and Bradlee Anae are both underrated steals who have a great shot at contributing early to the Cowboys front seven.

Gallimore enters the NFL coming off of his best collegiate season in terms of tackles for loss (6.5), sacks (4), and quarterback pressures (32). He’s incredibly fast for 300-pound man as evidence by his 4.79 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine On top of that, he forced five fumbles during his days at Oklahoma, and with new Defensive Coordinator Mike Nolan set to focus turnovers, he fits right in.

What’s most intriguing about Gallimore is his ability to play both the 1-technique and 3-technique. This will lessen the load on McCoy and Poe and keep them fresh while simultaneously providing Gallimore with the much-needed reps he’ll require to be effective. The Cowboys defense was gashed in the run game last season. Gallimore’s ability to disrupt will not allow offensive linemen to reach the second level and put a hat on the Cowboys linebackers.

I have to say the defense has me more excited than anything else. Not sure what to think of Nolan honestly but this could finally be the beginning of a respectable defense!

I keep saying it.

The DL is going to surprise people this year.

100% agree.
It's going to be something we've never seen before in the Cowboys defense.
Doomsday & Doomsday II were great. The 90's SB teams rotation was deep
and solid. But this? They have a chance to be special.

I know, I know. Stop with the positivity. They haven't played a down together yet.
Well, I'm expecting a huge jump in the defense this year. It starts up front.

It's normally a legitimate advantage anytime you have defenders with the talent to get interceptions. It's definitely prone to be an exceptional advantage when a team has as many players capable of doing that as this one does. I'd be surprised if this defense isn't destined to be among the league leaders in the turnover category this year. That will usually boost any team's chances of being a consistent winner. I very much like that idea!

I am more worried about the secondary. I have seen Dix get burned too many times. He just doesn't seem to be in the right place at the right time. I could be wrong. I do know that he has been on 4 teams in 6 years if I am not mistaken. Contract issue? Maybe, but someone was not willing to pay him for his services. Now he is with his 5th team.

At the bare minimum, these guys should be quality rotational players. At the minimum.

Galley is a huge steal who slid to the mid rounds for no apparent reason. Height, maybe? Everything I saw had him as a 1st round talent.

Annae slid due to lacking elite physical tools. You know who else lacks elite physical tools? JJ Watt. Don't get me wrong, elite physical tools are great, but there are other skills that can make a player effective.

I still think they upgrade the 1-tech and most likely draft the future at the position next year. Gallimore and Hill are both 3-techs do the only true 1-techs on the roster is Poe and Woods plus the undrafted guys.

We could look to free agents that are still on the market we could bring in. For example, a guy like Snacks Harrison is still out there and while he isn't a huge threat as a pass rusher......I like him for run stopping and clogging up holes. In pass rush situations, Dallas could use a Gallimore or Hill (depending if he takes a step forward with the new coaching).

I think it's very possible that Hill is no longer on the team come week 1. He will have to fight for his job and will not be given a spot.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Hill is cut or traded to the Raiders for a late round pick.

I'm really excited to see all 4 of these defensive rookies this season. I think they all have something to offer. I think in a couple of years we could be talking about the steal of this draft being Anae. The kid is just a good football player.
I think Lamb probably is already considered the steal of the draft, and if he plays like we expect him too that won't change. But Anae has a chance to shock a lot of people of how good he is for such a late draft pick.

I think both will be useful players this upcoming season. I'm really hoping our defense will be improved next season, there has been a fair bit of player movement.

i hope i'm not overdoing it with so many of these incoming Neville Gallimore rave reviews i've posted per Senior Bowl practices but i found numerous description of Gallimore's game captivating and wanted to share:
( i. e. - i loved the comparison to DT Grady Jarrett of ATL)

https://***USER-BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1***/seniorbowl2020practice.php

Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore was another player who team evaluators said did well in their eyes on Tuesday. Gallimore is a quick interior rusher who can get upfield and give interior blockers problems in pass protection. Gallimore could be a good fit as a three-technique in a 4-3 defense and has the potential to be a steal on Day 2 during the 2020 NFL Draft.

Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore had another good practice. Gallimore is a quick interior rusher who can get upfield and give interior blockers problems in pass protection. 7 biggest winners from the week of Senior Bowl practices

Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma. Gallimore benefited from Oklahoma's slanting, stemming defensive front that allowed him easier access to gaps and edges, but his production was still somewhat average. Personnel directors and scouts I spoke with worried about his ability to create disruption on his own. This week, Gallimore may have put some of those concerns to rest. He opened the door for teams to view him differently, at minimum. The former Sooner was able to translate his trademark high energy and athleticism into frequent pocket pressure in one-on-one drills. He also helped muddle lanes vs. the run. Gallimore might be a somewhat polarizing prospect, but this was a good week for him.

For defensive linemen, Oklahoma’s Neville Gallimore has made quite a bit of noise in all three days of camp. With Javon Kinlaw having left practices for precautionary measures, a strong argument could be made that Gallimore is now the best defensive player down in Mobile currently. He has looked every bit as good as he was on tape, showcasing acceleration off the snap, a high motor and ideal technique for the interior defensive line. Though he's competing with a handful of talented defensive tackles in this class, Gallimore should one of the first ones off the board.

INTERIOR DL:

Riser: Neville Gallimore, Oklahoma

Two of my favorite interior defensive linemen this week, Javon Kinlaw and Marlon Davidson, are both now out of the Senior Bowl because of injuries, but their absence has allowed other players to shine, specifically Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore. I haven't seen a player capable of blocking Gallimore in the one-on-one pass rush period as his combination of elite quickness, counter moves and natural leverage made him a singular wrecking crew throughout the week of practice. Gallimore is still a little shaky holding his own against double teams in the run game, but he has been truly dominant as a pass rusher, showing the juice and upside of a potential first-round pick.

– I like Oklahoma DT Neville Gallimore’s game but he has to get stronger against double-teams. Do see him washed out in the interior too often.

Stock up: Neville Gallimore, defensive tackle, Oklahoma - There are questions about Gallimore and was his production at Oklahoma from scheme or from him, but he showed he has skills during the week. He was able to generate pressure up the middle, and he was effective against the run

Oklahoma defensive tackle Neville Gallimore was another big standout in defensive line drills this week. Gallimore (who ranks 25th on my Big Board) measured in at 6-foot-2, 304 pounds and showed off incredible explosiveness at the snap, regularly swiping, ripping, or spinning past opposing linemen to get into the pocket.

Neville Gallimore, DT, Oklahoma

Had Javon Kinlaw not stolen the show we all would have been talking about Gallimore. Gallimore showed great burst off the line much like the aforementioned defender but when comparing the two Gallimore doesn’t play with the same strength that Kinlaw possesses.

With that said Gallimore did a great job holding up at the point of attack on run plays and fought hard to maintain his gap responsibilities. Gallimore’s best position will be at 3-Tech in the NFL (if you need to brush up on exactly what that means you can click this link) as he struggled to use his quickness when lined up inside as a 1-Tech. I had a chance to talk with Gallimore after the second day of practice and he seemed like he was genuinely kind, he liked to laugh and he took some very odd questions in stride. As of today it’s hard to project where he may be selected but it wouldn’t be shocking to see this overly athletic behemoth wind up being selected on day one.

But Lamb was already very highly regarded, coming into the NFL draft ,and even 6th overall player on Cowboys daft board, how would that be a steal ?
Usually a steal would be a more unsuspected rookie draft pick who emerges far more than what was expected of him.
Bradlee Anaes would be considered a steal.

Lamb was a steal, just ask Jerry.
He stole him right away from Lurie.

Gallimore was such a great pick. I really think he can have a nice impact as a rotational player this year. With McCoy being on a 1 year deal good pick for the future.

Galley should have been a 1st round pick. Him falling to the 3rd was absolutely ludicrous. If we had taken him in the 1st it would've been a good pick. Shows how deep this draft was. Lamb would've been the top rated WR in most drafts.
