This Wisconsin Badger clone has an opportunity to replace the beard with the Dallas Cowboys.
With the 146th pick in the fourth round, the Dallas Cowboys select, Tyler Biadasz, Center, Wisconsin. I have to admit that my jaw dropped. This was one of those drafts where the guy on the board that I favored was actually selected.

When NFL prospects are in college, they often rush to judgment and only look at the issue staring right at them rather than look to the future. That is why I find it so important that these young adults find a mentor while they make decisions for their future.

Too often you see college kids rush to their professional leagues so they can attempt to strike gold. Call it youthfulness or bad advice from those around them, we all to often see these guys fail in the league and are left wondering “what if”.

In the case of new Dallas Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz, he decided to return to school for another season and that might have cost him. If this guy had entered the 2019 NFL draft, he more than likely would have gone in the second round of that draft with an outside chance of making a Travis Frederick like appearance as a surprising first-round pick.

The fact that Biadasz played with a shoulder injury and still managed to win a Remington trophy for this play only goes to exemplify his worthiness. I think he's probably headed for much the same level of success that Fredbeard had. Perhaps I'm premature in revealing that notion but we'll soon see if it fits.

I think his drafting was an absolute steal. There seems to be something about Wisconsin linemen that really tends to provide excellent results from those teams that are fortunate enough to acquire them! Must be something about that northern midwest climate that agrees with them! ;)

I'd really like to see him get some playing time this year and take over at center full time starting next year.

First thing is to make sure he is healthy and physically ready (strong enough) to play and then to make sure he is mentally adjusted to the pro game. Both those might be until next year. Once those happen, were golden!

Unless he gets hurt, I really believe this dude wins the starting C job in camp.

In the words of Bill “Big Tuna” Parcells, put away the anointing oil would you?
Not me. This guy is pro ready and already a noted run blocker. Strength is already super along w/ good quickness and agility and adequate athleticism. 41 games started, great technique. What are you seeing/hearing that makes you say he's not ready?

I think it would be too much luck and coincidence to have ANOTHER Wisconsin center to be All pro level like the beard. I would be happy if he made one pro bowl in his career.

Oh I’m sure he has impressive tape in college, he has done jack squat so far in the pros. Yes be excited about the prospect, but pump the breaks on anointing him as the next coming of Fredbeard. Let the kid start playing and let him settle in and we can see if he is any good or so-so.

Not trying to be *ss but it’s the Rimington Trophy after I believe Dave Rimington of Nebraska who ran a 4.95 / 40 backin Maybe late 70’s

Well, it does seem a lot to ask but stranger things happen sometimes. If he's anywhere near as good as Frederick was, he's a keeper! He was a later pick, so there's that to consider, also. I wouldn't be surprised if the pro game allows him to get stronger and develop even further than he has so far. He'll get the benefit of pro weight training and coaching. That should help his cause considerably. The tough competition won't hurt, either.

I'd really like to see him become the best center in football and never miss a game during his 14 year career.

He played through a year of a hip injury, then had surgery, then played another year and won the Rimington.

This is classic Jerry/McClay taking on perceived injury risk/history on a guy with extra upside *because* of that injury history.

True stuff, no doubt. If nothing else, he'll get some time to return to his former self, even if it takes a year for him to do so. Jerry loves to get those former injury cases and hope for them to pan out bigtime. I'm sure he figures he's getting a bargain in the process. To be honest, I'm hoping he's right. The fact that he won the Remington trophy speaks pretty well for his recovery, though.

As some of you may know,.... Im ALL Wisconsin, ALL the time...LOL... So heres the word..............This kid actually has a little higher of a ceiling than Frederick did coming out. I know that may come as a shock to some, and I dont blame you. BUT......all I can say is just wait until camp. Many of you are going to be very pleasantly surprised. He is quite advanced.......
