I agree on Clowney. He strikes me as .. well … a clown. He's a good player, but not the kind of player he thinks he is. If we wanted a free agent DE I would rather go with Everson Griffen on a short term deal. I'm actually anxious to see Aldon Smith, although it may be wishful thinking to expect too much after all the time he has missed.

I don't see Eric Berry as an option. He's been available the last couple of years, and to my knowledge has had no serious suitors. I suspect there is a good reason for that.

Not to be combative but what has clowney ever really done?

ive never seen one guy in football get so much money based on potential

dude has been hurt a lot and really imo has never lived up to his billing. That 1 play in SC has netted that dude quite a bit a money

I agree on all of that but Clowney plays the run well and is someone you have to account for. I don't think he is worth a fraction of what he is asking for, but if no one signs him and he takes a one year pillow contract in Dallas I could get behind it. I'd much rather see what Smith, Gregory, Anae and Armstrong do than pay him a lot of money, but I can see it working out if he signs cheap.

This isn't combative to me. I just said Clowney was a good player, not a great one, and I went further to say he isn't the player he thinks he is.

Hoping to sign Jadaveon Clowney (cut Crawford) and/or trade for Jamal Adams.

Defense needs more disruptors.

Cannot believe the lack of appreciation for how Clowney can just take over games, even when offenses are keyed against him. Sacks are nice but need to look deeper into his impact vs. both pass and run, Clowney is a takeaway artist.

There is no player on Cowboys as freakishly explosive as Clowney.

Please Cut Crawford :hammer:

For all of those people criticizing Jerry for not hiring a GM, look at our dead cap. I know Jerry has made horrible mistakes in the past, but right now, and over the better part of the last decade Jerry has been a very good GM in my opinion. The Cowboys have pretty much no dead cap other than Travis. I like how Jerry has been handling things of late.

A bounty will be placed on anybody foolishly liking the above post.

So what do we think the extra $7 million will be used for?

They could've taken the entire hit this year but chose to spread it over two years. Meaning the Cowboys intentionally wanted to add more money to this year's roster.

From what I've read, they were already $4 million below. So they have $11 million and the rookies to sign. But can also add more money very easily.

Hopefully this means a decent signing is still to come.
Good post, Cowboys are in good shape at center ---three guys who are ready to man the position
