Thanks for sharing this Doomsday. It is an interesting take from an opposing fan. I can't decide about Dak. A player who wins games but who has come up short in some games. Has he reached his ceiling at this point in his career (I have no idea)? Are there alternatives at this point (I don't think there are)? Given the uncertainty, is playing him this year on the tag a bad idea (If it is a bad idea, you pay him a lot of guaranteed money where he must have the ability to win the big ones and that ability has been spotty thus far)? My crystal ball on this whole thing is cloudy and I do understand Dak hasn't been always responsible for the losses versus good teams. I hope the Cowboys make the right decision....but I have no idea what that decision should be (didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night either).

Both sides in the debate make some good points. Let the debate continue.

For at least the third time, it's not about worth or deserve, it's about the alternative for each side.

What's Dallas's? Andy Dalton?

They have a MUCH better chance with Prescott and that's why he is worth 35M. Theres no other choice right now.

Besides, theres no one to spend money on defensively right now other than Clowney and Griffen.

You cant tell me that Dallas is a better team with Griffen and Dalton than what they have at RDE with Prescott. Theres no way to make that case.

I'm no big #4 fan or defender, but that's the reality of it.

Pay the man!!!
What would we do not being able to kick all those Field-Goals!!
How could we survive without all those check-downs when it's 3rd and 13.
Life without all those overthrows and behind the receivers passes would simply not be the same!
I don't know how it would feel to actually play in a shoot out game and win it.
Not being able to see Dak with his poor footwork do the Deer in the headlights dance back there would be a true loss for us.:muttley:
And last and not least not having Dak at the press conference after another beat down with his pretty bow tie saying his fabulous statement....As a team, we need to play better.

PAY DAK whats another 5 years of non-glory....... really now!!!:banghead:

If they pay Dak, they might as well have kept Garrett.
Garrett was the reason the team tried making Dak into Romo. Now we have a coach who wants to utilize daks strengths . The difference will be incredible. Unfortunately you’ll still be a troll

Prescott can read a defense. Jared Goff? Prescott can play an entire season . Carson Wentz? Best quarterback in the draft class . Pay him. And they will. Just like Elliot. Just a matter of when

Rescind the tag and use that $31.4 million in better ways.[/QUOT. I keep reading this. But I don’t see how you propose to do it. Who is better that we can get a quarterback. And who is out there that you’re going to spend his money on. Keep complaining keep saying it but don’t resolve it

Now that is fair and balanced whilst you might agree with the final outcome then your beef is with CBA and NFL norms...

Good post. Thank you sir!

That is why I posted this, because I felt it was a fair and balanced review of Dak. I like Dak and feel he can lead this team to a championship but also want to see and hear outside views with no bias pro or con.

He will get paid likely but if he plays under the tag then so be it. He lost to the egirls last year and played poorly with a bad shoulder. Not sure if Rush was a better option. Losing that game got us Lamb. Kept the egirls from getting a star WR. We weren’t playing well as a team last season so making the playoffs would have been no fun. He has won a playoff game so he can win big games also. If he can’t get it done then Dalton will be better than rush. We shall see.

The video states has a tendency to throw behind receivers which leads to drops/difficult catches, holds the ball too long, has issues reading a defense, and has poor pocket presence. But yeah, he deserves a record breaking contract making him the highest paid QB in the league.
