The video states has a tendency to throw behind receivers which leads to drops/difficult catches, holds the ball too long, has issues reading a defense, and has poor pocket presence. But yeah, he deserves a record breaking contract making him the highest paid QB in the league.

Hell, in that case lets pay him 150 mil a season.

While I agree with your assessment, especially his tendency to not hit receivers in stride, that record breaking contract isn't a big deal. It'll change in a few years and he won't even be in the top 5. Just pay the guy...

Yet manages to put up very good numbers with few turnovers leading an offense ranked 2nd in the league. Yes he does show things Dak must improve on and shows where Dak has made improvements to rank high in the league or is this a case of picking and choosing what he said to get your argument?

Not worth the money.

Go draft a guy and spend the money elsewhere.

Rescind the tag and use that $31.4 million in better ways.

Cowboys aren't going to recind the tag (although i wish they would) but i will tell you all this, if you start to see the Cowboys signing their draft picks before Dak gets a deal then you can make an educated guess the Cowboys are going to let Dak play on the tag this season. Dak is counting 31.4m against the cap right now under the tag so they know what they have left to spend, if the draft picks start getting signed then the Cowboys are working with the assumption that Dak will count 31.4 against the cap. Draft pick rookie deals are generally slotted as to what players get but there is a a little leeway players have to negotiate how much the deals will be, at some point the Cowboys will have to decide how much they have left to spend, they know how with Dak playing on the tag they don't know how much with a deal signed, could be more could be less depending on how the deal is structered

The Cowboys know generally how much cap space will be allotted to rookies before the draft and have money set aside for this. The rookies signing their deals shouldn't affect Dak negotiations at all. Whether it be on the tag or with a deal I fully expect Dak to play all 16 games this coming season. He has made it clear he won't come out of the game for any reason, most likely due to the fact that people would then see any semi-decent QB can put up great numbers with our loaded offense (like Andy Dalton).

So all drops are Dak's fault? Most of the time if it is in the catch radius the WR should catch it, unless very tight coverage.
I think he reads defense just fine. That is just some fans opinion, but are off about it.
Yes at times he holds the ball too long, however he improved upon that last season, though later in the year he regressed some on it. That is correctable.
Pocket presence, yes that needs to be better, but that improved some last year too, even though the OL was not what is used to be.

I disagree that Dak has issues reading defenses. Dak reads defenses well for a QB who has been in the league for 4 years.

I also take issue with the “poor pocket presence”

His footwork in the pocket was sloppy, but has been steadily improving since his rookie season. His presence is decent. He senses pressure and when to get rid of the ball pretty well. He is aware of what’s going on around him.

If Romo can get paid, so can Dak. Romo was there for 11 seasons and never sniffed an NFC Championship, let alone a SB. But he got paid.

All I wish is Dak to get paid more than Goff and Wentzie, his contemporaries. Dak is better than both. If JJ pays Dak more than these 2 clowns, I'm satisfied.

What does "sniffed" mean?

And why the hell would you wish for him to get paid more? That's anti Cowboys.

Even if you love him, you should wish that he signs for the league minimum.

They have. Just haven’t been able to hit on a quarterback with all those first rounders they have had. What does that tell you?

Landing a few big name players is not laying a foundation. Cleveland has not been a well-run organization in decades. It goes far beyond just not finding the right QB.

Dak Prescott is worth more than Wentz and Goff. Wentz and Goff are not worth their current contracts.

Somewhere in between "Dak sucks!!!" and "Pay him whatever he wants!!!" is a logical middle ground. Unfortunately for Dallas, a plethora of teams overpaying mediocre QB's (likely permanently harming themselves in the process) has put Dallas in a pickle where a "fair market contract" isn't a particularly good idea and neither is just letting Dak go. Dallas is stuck between two bad options.

The simplest out is to just let Dak play on the tag. If the team wins it all, that's great and you hand him a boatload of cash and try to figure it out from there. If they don't, you just try to trade him and move on.

Most QB's including Dak can not make up for a sub average defense. If the defense isn't ballin we aren't winning more than 7-8 games just like last year.

dak is a lot like Mariotta, only stouter. He also reminds me of McNabb, his stature and the way he plays.
With a good team around him Mc got to a SB but lost. I can see dak doing the same.

I also think This Dallas team could win with several different qb's, even cousins could flourish here.
Dak has always had better than avg talent around him, and yeah lousy coaches, but with all that talent, his avg the
last 3 years is *9-7 .
Which tells me he is just a avg qb, maybe a tiny bit above avg.
So Dallas could do as well with dalton or any number of other qb's, heck probably could roll with dinucci.
