If we pay Dak 33+ millions , he better take us to the super bowl with his elite talent ...

if we go with dalton I will be happy with an NFC championship game appearance at least as we build up the talent around dalton .

For me it is getting past the div round and to the champ game, and at least looking good losing that.
That would be progress.
no playoffs, playoffs, and a exit before or in div round is not good enough.

The offense is loaded, new coaches, better looking defense, new ST coach, and last but not least
the great dak prescott !

Finishing with a record of 12-4 would be preferable, to help with home field in playoffs.

Even if dalton starts game 1, I still expect the same things.
I just want to see them compete especially late in games. Good teams find a way to pull out a win in the 4th quarter. So many of the games come down to the last few minutes of the game and I want the Cowboys to pull out the close ones......particularly on the road. We are better than everyone in the division imho. The eagles as usual, are going to give us fits. I think we can sweep the skins and giants.

My expectations have lowered a lot as up and down as this team has been the past couple of decades. With a new head coach and a virtual offseason I’m just hoping we make the playoffs. That would at least be a good start to the McCarthy era. It took 4 seasons to make the playoffs under Garrett. We’re in June and the players haven’t even been on the field in pads. This situation is certainly going to set the rookies back some. With all the changes along with a virtual offseason, making the playoffs would be a good first step and something to build on.

The virtual offseason and late start probably affect all teams, So the NFL season will start a bit sloppy in my opinion, of course established coaches with veteran players will be more up to speed, but Boys team youth is a good equivilizer, I hope.

It’s going to affect all teams but it’s going to have a bigger affect on teams that are bringing in a new HC and staff. McCarthy has yet to meet face to face with any of the players. A new offensive system with a lot of other changes is going to be a challenge.

Sweeping the giants and skins, that may happen, but I dont think we should count on it.

My minimum goal? Like the 70s and early 80s Cowboys, in the mix for a championship.

Every year for the past decade we've seen the Steelers, Patriots, Saints, Packers, and other teams constantly in the mix. The Cowboys should join that crew. If not, why? We have just as good of a crew. Lets see what happens.

Winning the division and looking vastly superior to the rest of the division as our talent dictates. That means 10+ wins and not trying to beat Philly’s backups and win it at 8-8 or 9-7. Then winning a game or two in the playoffs. Re-establishing the franchise as a contender again to be back in the Super Bowl discussion. The mediocrity should have left with The Clapper!

We're relatively hamstrung this year, particularly on defense, with a new coaching staff, new scheme, lot of new players, and prep time diminished a lot.

10-6 record playoff appearance and too the second round. They have the firepower to go further but realistically it all has to mesh together
