Right you are, govnor. Right you are.
I bet Dak could beat Wench in a fight!!!
By the way I accept your position. Cleaning your halfway house. And I know just what trash to throw away. I just have to get a bigger barrel for you

If Romo can get paid, so can Dak. Romo was there for 11 seasons and never sniffed an NFC Championship, let alone a SB. But he got paid.

All I wish is Dak to get paid more than Goff and Wentzie, his contemporaries. Dak is better than both. If JJ pays Dak more than these 2 clowns, I'm satisfied.
Dak is going to get paid on July 15. Just have patience. It's a virtue. Chill my friend.

i've always loved Sam Gold's breakdown videos - the best i've seen around.
But to place Matt Ryan ATL as 2nd tier ? ... While Dak is 3rd tier ?
the 35 year old Ryan is on the declining side of his career. and he's not a Brady,Brees or Rodgers oldie/goodie.
:omg:

The video states has a tendency to throw behind receivers which leads to drops/difficult catches, holds the ball too long, has issues reading a defense, and has poor pocket presence. But yeah, he deserves a record breaking contract making him the highest paid QB in the league.

Well that was basically his draft profile too.

The Cowboys know generally how much cap space will be allotted to rookies before the draft and have money set aside for this. The rookies signing their deals shouldn't affect Dak negotiations at all. Whether it be on the tag or with a deal I fully expect Dak to play all 16 games this coming season. He has made it clear he won't come out of the game for any reason, most likely due to the fact that people would then see any semi-decent QB can put up great numbers with our loaded offense (like Andy Dalton).

They do and as of right now they have between 10-11m of cap space left and approx 7.5-8m will be used to sign our rookies, doesn't leave alot of room left to add any extra money to the 31.4m Dak already counts against the cap since he was tagged also nothing really left to sign other players, yes they could probably restructure a deal or 2 if they really had to but if they have to do that in Dak 1st year of his deal to remain under the cap or have a little bit of cap space remaining going into the season, then it doesn't bode well for the Cowboys going into future years on a big deal with Dak

dak is a lot like Mariotta, only stouter. He also reminds me of McNabb, his stature and the way he plays.
With a good team around him Mc got to a SB but lost. I can see dak doing the same.
McNabb had a much stronger arm and was more talented than Dak.
I also think This Dallas team could win with several different qb's, even cousins could flourish here.
Dak has always had better than avg talent around him, and yeah lousy coaches, but with all that talent, his avg the
last 3 years is *9-7 .
Which tells me he is just a avg qb, maybe a tiny bit above avg.
So Dallas could do as well with dalton or any number of other qb's, heck probably could roll with dinucci.

It won’t take even half that to sign the rookies.

yes it will the cowboys will use most if not all of it +/- half a million

https://cowboyswire.usatoday.com/20...draft-contract-projections-salary-cap-update/

LOL!!!! Did you even read the article or just stop when they mentioned $7.4 million? The next 5-6 paragraphs make my exact point and end up explaining why the rookies will only count $3.1 million against the cap this year which is, surprise surprise, exactly the less than half what you projected that I claimed. Whoops!

Exactly.

We all know he isnt worth what he is going to get. None of these guys are.

Better alternative for now? Dalton? No.

Anyway about him being worth 35m, I guess so, but I'm pretty sure that was offered....AND I STILL say that shorter term deal is a win/win for the team.

I agree with all...including shorter term...there’s a real chance the cap goes DOWN instead of up and are we really going to lose sleep over another big contract if the cap does go up and Dak sniffs a SB? If Dak doesn’t improve any then we could get free sooner...not sure why the org cares that much about the length unless it’s so they have more maneuverablility to move money around for other players...

Worst fans in sports. won't change. Main reason dallas is so hated and the main joke of a franchise since the 90s.
Hilariously this includes fans like you when you factor in the hate towards the Cowboys organization and its fanbase. One of the reasons is the notion we overhype and overrate the players on the team.

It tells me that franchise QBs are not exactly a dime a dozen.

A dime a dozen? No...and I don’t see anyone suggesting that it is that easy to draft a QB. But it is a lot easier for QBs to succeed in the NFL than it was. The bust rate has decreased. So looking at Cleveland’s QB decisions, in a vacuum, isn’t exactly an accurate barometer for describing how difficult it is to find a good QB in the draft.

They are not a dime a dozen...but neither is every team that wants to find a QB in the draft doomed to repeat Cleveland’s failures. The truth just may be in the middle
