Play Dak on tag this year....if he balls it up big time. Then trade him and let Dalton run the ship while developing a good young prospect....
Unless Team makes a deep playoff run because of his play....then ya either have to eat some crow and pony up big time or cut bait.

We’ve been in contention and made it to the playoffs twice in the last four years and have a playoff win. You can spin whatever you want but our QB hasn’t been the problem. All you do is use this forum as a platform to spew your hatred for Dak. A poll was started a couple of weeks ago asking fans to choose either Dak or Andy Dalton to start the season and you picked Dalton. lol You picked a castoff who Cincinnati gave up on. You picked a QB to start for the Cowboys that has an 87.5 career passer rating, who’s 0-4 in the playoffs and has more playoff INTs than TDs. I’ll ask you the same question you avoided last week. Did you pick Dalton as our QB because you were that impressed with his career in Cincinnati or did you pick him because of your hatred for Dak? Answer the question or take your tiring agenda and get lost!

First run a legit QB competition in training camp. Whoever is the better man, leads the team this year. If he gets Dallas beyond the divisional playoffs, pay him big bucks and let the other guy walk.

Funny but the Cowboys last 2 first round quarterbacks were free agents, Weeden and Dalton..Our last 2 starting quarterbacks were a free agent out of college and a fourth rounder..Maybe we should spend a 1st on the position one day

Dalton folds like a cheap chair in big moments...his playoff performances have been awful awful awful

Dalton plays well, the draft pick is at the middle to the end of the first. Good luck finding your QB there. That means a Paxton Lynch more than a solution.

If people think you can just "draft another one" any year, they really don't may attention to how things work and live in a Fantasy Land.

The only solution if that is the plan is to tank. And that is really really stupid.

Um... That isn't how it works. If you rescind the tag, he is IMMEDIATELY a FA. You get no draft picks unless you are counting the Comp pick. But we are already past the date for which Comp picks are calculated, meaning if you rescind the tag, we get NOTHING.

Where the Cowboys messed up, in my opinion, was using the EXCLUSIVE tag. If they had used the non-exclusive tag, then his agent could have shopped him around the league and found his true worth. If he signed an offer sheet from another team, we could either match or get the 2 first round picks. Again, this is IF we had applied the non-exclusive tag.
