So, how anyone can watch this game again and start the Prescott griping again is beyond me.

No, he did not play a great game. But this defense was horrific.

In fact, both Marinelli and Richard should have been fired after this.

the entire defensive staff should’ve gotten notice of termination before they got to the plane home...

They still stuck around another year and failed yet again. Meanwhile the QB had his best season.

I really don't get your logic using this game to determine why he should not get a new contract.
You can see the same things in most of the games. His worst game last year was the GB game, look at that one.
And we are not saying he is bad, just he isnt worth a big contract.

He has had 4 years to "get better" and last season, is pretty much his ceiling.
he may look better with mm, but dallas could get another bus driver and use that money for a safety etc.
or they can spend it all on dak lol.

CJ is good, he just has personality disorder , that is why teams cut him.
I remember when he played for denver, he looked good, then they cut him at end of year.

(Dak 27-44, 463 yards, 2 td's, 3 int's.) So, the lack of 500 yards and 3 int's = not worth a big contract? Wow. Awesome you know another mans ceiling.

Right now on NFLN

The play right before this

cowboys.jpg

Dak throws behind Gallup on a simple 8 yard in. Troy even mentions if Dak hits the pass, Gallup runs for at least 20 yds after the catch.

They also mentioned him being 3 for 8 after starting off 5 for 5

Ffwd to 1:00:45 to see for yourself

Am I allowed to watch the defense give up 275 yards rushing and 30 points or are those things Dak's fault as well?

The Rams defense >>> the Cowboys defense on that night. We couldn't run, we couldn't stop the run. Stupid Dak.

Look at who started the thread. I knew before opening this thread what his narrative would be.

The fact the Rams ran for nearly 300 yards on our defense in a playoff game is atrocious. How does that even happen? CJ Anderson looked like an all pro against us. We didn't adjust one bit. This is when our front 7, especially the LBs were exposed and they never recovered. They were horrible the very next season.

The Rams did not punt the ball until what, the 3rd quarter? Dallas's defense was complete and utter trash.

But of course, Dak gets all the blame

Exactly. If you give up almost 300 yards on the ground in the NFL and don't force a punt until the 3rd quarter, yeah you aren't winning the game. To completely ignore the OL and just focus on one guy because of an agenda and narrative is laughable. But what do you expect with the OP? He has a vendetta against Dak and will do whatever he can to fulfill this. But he will also disappear and sit on his hands the second Dak has any success.

There were some potential game changing opportunities in that game that were absolutely blown by Dak. 2, 3, 4 plays don't show up in the box score but they damn sure can show up on the scoreboard. In a one score game those plays matter. Those are legacy defining plays.

Multiple things can be true. The defense sucked = true. The offense did very little to help them = true. The game was close and even one of those blown opportunities could very well have made a difference = true.

If Aikman blows the pass to Harper in 92 does it affect the outcome of that game? Legacy defining play.

Big time players make big time plays in big time situations.

Aside from the Dak discussion. But also on topic for cowboys playoff games.

The cowboys as a team are not going to make an NFC championship game or super bowl unless the defense forces turnovers in playoff games. The last two playoff games they had zero turnovers. Zero. In two games.

You don’t win super bowls without forcing some turnovers. They have to find a way to do it. Have to

McCarthy is clearly placing a priority on forcing more turnovers. So let’s hope he is successful in getting the defense to do so.

I have seen brady throw a bad pass also. Watched a game he over threw 2 tds to wide open recievers. He isn’t brady but they all have bad throws and throws they wished they had back.

Even the best pitchers lay a fastball right over the plate sometimes and get taken yard. It’s part of the game.

And if a ball doesn't go through Amari Cooper's hands for a pick (with a 43 yard return) Dak has 3 TDs and 2 picks. That was a 14 point swing in a game that was a 10 point loss.

This is the video:

27-44=17 misses lol.
463 yards, 2 td's, ..........it could be 600 yds and 5 tds, and if he still lost and had the 3 ints, it would be the same.
Romo had 5 ints, in that buffalo game and still managed to win the game. The stats really have no meaning, it is whether they win or lose.

And after 4 years dak is all he is ever going to be.
I think he will be better with new coaches, but certain areas he is not going to get better.
During the season he may look better, but in playoffs you will see the dak who has hit his ceiling.
That is my take on it, and maybe I am right, or wrong, we will see this year and next year.

I also think once he gets the big contract and guaranteed $ he will let off the gas and be so so in many games, and then in a few games
he will go all out.

And I will admit the coaching was lousy, and that did hinder dak and other players, so maybe the new coaches will help him and team
get past the div round this season or next.

Stop it

Dak stans complain about his haters, yet compare him to brady.

if brady wasnt a 6x SB winning QB, he would get criticized for missed passes in the playoffs too

God watching this game still hurts. It's available in its entirety on YouTube as well.

I was never so sure of anything in my life as much as I was convinced we were going to win that game. Especially after we stalled their first two drives in the red zone and made them settle for FGs, and then when Cooper scored that touchdown. I thought our "home field advantage" in LA would play a major role as well. It didn't.

Dak was suspect in this game on some throws but he got zero help from his defense and Zeke was essentially removed from the game. Aikman commented during the game cast that the Rams OL were completely moving our guys off the ball every play. Essentially carving holes in our D up front. Should Dak have played better? Yeah. But when a team was as manhandled on the ground as we were, that's a circumstance that's difficult to overcome.

You have also seen Brady be absolute money when he needed to be so the most. On a rope, right in stride, in the 1 foot window it needed to be, receiver turns to find the ball right where it needs to be.... Money.

That is the difference.
