I was a big fan of Beard's & am sorry his career got cut short. On the other hand, if his capable replacement is a 4th rounder instead of spending another 1st on the Oline, I will absolutely love it.

The fact that Biadasz played with a shoulder injury and still managed to win a Remington trophy for this play only goes to exemplify his worthiness. I think he's probably headed for much the same level of success that Fredbeard had. Perhaps I'm premature in revealing that notion but we'll soon see if it fits.

I think his drafting was an absolute steal. There seems to be something about Wisconsin linemen that really tends to provide excellent results from those teams that are fortunate enough to acquire them! Must be something about that northern midwest climate that agrees with them! ;)
Great pick and great deal for the Cowboys

This Wisconsin Badger clone has an opportunity to replace the beard with the Dallas Cowboys.
With the 146th pick in the fourth round, the Dallas Cowboys select, Tyler Biadasz, Center, Wisconsin. I have to admit that my jaw dropped. This was one of those drafts where the guy on the board that I favored was actually selected.

When NFL prospects are in college, they often rush to judgment and only look at the issue staring right at them rather than look to the future. That is why I find it so important that these young adults find a mentor while they make decisions for their future.

Too often you see college kids rush to their professional leagues so they can attempt to strike gold. Call it youthfulness or bad advice from those around them, we all to often see these guys fail in the league and are left wondering “what if”.

In the case of new Dallas Cowboys center Tyler Biadasz, he decided to return to school for another season and that might have cost him. If this guy had entered the 2019 NFL draft, he more than likely would have gone in the second round of that draft with an outside chance of making a Travis Frederick like appearance as a surprising first-round pick.
Great post

Oh I’m sure he has impressive tape in college, he has done jack squat so far in the pros. Yes be excited about the prospect, but pump the breaks on anointing him as the next coming of Fredbeard. Let the kid start playing and let him settle in and we can see if he is any good or so-so.
I'm speaking almost nothing of what he accomplished in college. Pro success is about skillset and technique and physical ability. He's loaded for bear. What are you seeing that says otherwise?

As some of you may know,.... Im ALL Wisconsin, ALL the time...LOL... So heres the word..............This kid actually has a little higher of a ceiling than Frederick did coming out. I know that may come as a shock to some, and I dont blame you. BUT......all I can say is just wait until camp. Many of you are going to be very pleasantly surprised. He is quite advanced.......
That is great news indeed -for all Cowboy fans. And this kid is bigger that Frederick:yourock::yourock::yourock:

It was double pay back time in this draft.
First burning Philly with the selection of CD, and then paying them back once again with the Biadasz selection.
Wasn't it philly that traded out in the 2nd round when Max Unger was sitting there for us to take with our next pick in the 2009 draft?
Seahawks moved right up to that slot and nabbed that future all pro center.
Like Philly knew exactly what we were planning at that pick in that draft, and made sure the team that they were trading with was going to pick him.
Pay back time x two IMO.

Well, it does seem a lot to ask but stranger things happen sometimes. If he's anywhere near as good as Frederick was, he's a keeper! He was a later pick, so there's that to consider, also. I wouldn't be surprised if the pro game allows him to get stronger and develop even further than he has so far. He'll get the benefit of pro weight training and coaching. That should help his cause considerably. The tough competition won't hurt, either.

I watched some of his play and he seems to have heavy feet so he struggles some in the pass protection. Strong upper body so in the run game he is much more effective when he can just plow forward.

I was the biggest advocate on here of drafting a center high in this draft. Very very glad to hear your assessment. So then he should have no problems whatsoever beating out the incumbent backup Looney. We shall see.

I am rooting for Biadasz and McGovern to win the jobs.

I agree that potential is similar but Biadasz not bigger than Fredbeard.

Biadasz is 6'3 316 while Frederick was 6'4 320.

The center for the Eagles is probably playing his last season.
They will rue the day they traded that pick to us for a future pro bowl center that will be suiting up for the Dallas Cowboys for many years to come.
