More off season time waste...

If every team in the NFL could hand-select their best players and coaches of all time to play for one year, which team would win the Superbowl? Assume that every player and coach would be in their prime. Assume that you could only claim players that you had during their prime...meaning you couldn't claim a one one time star who played a season or two for your team on the downside of their career.

I think the Cowboys could win it all. Not just because we've had such outstanding players, but because we've had them at so many different positions. We would end up with a well-rounded team.

Think teams from the early 90's +/- up would be favorites.

While there were some dominate teams from the 70's and earlier, athlete's have really evolved since then. Tough to compare IMO.

Definitely think Dallas would be a front runner. Just an unfair wealth of talent(that would still be competitive in the modern era) and coaching was top notch in the early 90's.

What I meant to say was...you could cherry pick your roster from any point in your history. Like...your best player of all time at each position.

Are you talking starting players or an entire team? I guess it doesn't matter.
I agree, we win hands down every time.
Now this is off the top of my head. But Dallas has Multiple HOF players at many positions, as well as 2 HOF HC coaches. The only only team that may rival us is the Steelers, maybe GB.

However we have many players that deserve to be in the HOF as where they at least equal some players on the Steelers. Like Drew Pearson compared to Stallworth and Swann.

I was thinking entire team. But, I agree that it doesn't matter. There are very few teams that would be in the conversation.

Dallas. We have an all-time great player at pretty much every position. Steelers and GB would be great too but the Steelers are weaker than us at QB and GB not quite as good overall, IMO.

One caveat to make things fair --- players from yesteryear (60's, 70's, 80's) should be rated against their contemporaries, not against modern players (for example, the game has changed from running to passing due to rule changes --- so guys like Joe Namath and Johnny Unitas, who were VERY pass proficient in their best years, should really look just as good as today's best passers --- their ratings obviously don't stack up, but they had to suffer through head-hunting defenses that regularly interfered with their receivers, unlike today's game where they're all coddled)

All of the great Dynasties of prior eras would dominate.

Im not sure teams would use more than a handful of players from this Salary Crap era.

The NFL is so watered down now with talent.

For example who would the Cowboys use from the last 20 years?

I'd probably do a mix and match with past Pats greats that played a while for them or were one year or more rentals.

I'm taking Brady with Moss, Welker, Gronk and Hernandez as catchers and Cory Dillon in the backfield.

Revis Island, Ty Law, Rodney Harrison and even the newest kid Gilmore in the secondary.

Dline with Seymour and Wilfork and a deep group of linebackers to include Vrabel, Bruschi, Hightower and others.

Belichek as the head hoodie honcho is the cherry on top.

How about go at this angle with no salary cap? Like baseball. Even though we would spend, we wouldn’t have won it all with JG. He was that bad......

Niners and its probably not that close.

Aikman and Staubach were good, but they dont compare to Young and Montana. The rest of the offense probably goes to the Niners save the RB and some Olineman.

Defense might be a little more even. Maybe Cowboys probably have an edge there.

Coaching definitely goes to the Niners.

Pats is definitely a good one. Ill take Niners though.
