Hmmmm, why is Michael coming out NOW with his statement?????? Dak went thru what every new/drafted NFL player has to go thru. It's called a ROOKIE CONTRACT! He was a 4th rd pick who to this point has in some cases played like a 2nd rd pick. This isn't youth football where everyone get's a trophy/snackbar ticket, this is the NFL where if you play great you get paid!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, for Dak he's been so up and down in his career that he hasn't earned the right for BACK pay nor has he earned the right to be at the top of the food chain either. Personally, I think Dak is a middle of the pack QB who can be a top tier QB with more hard work and less greediness...
He's played like a 2nd round pick? Ha! Man you guys....

One has nothing, at all, to do with the other. This isn't a matter of trust and you shouldn't be trying to skirt the issue with a subject you know we can't discuss here. Wrong forum, bad idea.

In terms of the players having enough money, well, the money dries up when the games dry up so I don't see it but if you do, that's fine.
Wrong forum red herring??

It all matters...that is exactly the point whom does the money dry up for too...the owners. They aren't in Football for $1.50 Miller lite. Players are the commodity and that commodity is shifting.

Popularity could die just like NBA of 80s or MLB {pick an era).

NFL is no longer invincible. Players know it.

I've known it all along. Back pay wasn't and still isn't being granted.

Claiming otherwise is nothing but silly. Contracts are contracts.
I agree. Back pay will never happen. Players know the NFL is whirling right now.

Disagree contracts are contracts in the NFL.... Todd Gurley lastest casualty

No Covid discussion, no political discussion so if you intend to discuss something "bigger" that doesn't involve either of those, then we are good.

Yeah, I've heard this before. Seen it before, teams last, players come and go. Popularity could die but who does that impact more? The CBA is directly related to revenue and profits. If that goes down, then so do player salaries. Owners pay out a percentage so it's backed in, so to speak. Players don't have as much power as they think, IMO. But like I said, if you feel differently, that's cool.

a deal is a deal. i got a gob (good ole boy) loan from republic bank of mineral wells in 1983 to finance my ranch. after the bank failed in 1986 and a larger bank took it over, they tried to renegotiate with me. i told them to take a hike. they tried telling me all the errors made by the ex-president in procuring my loan. i told them to fire him. paid it off in 2014. dak willl be paid in the future for what he did in the past. fair enough.

If it was that loaded they wouldn't have went 4-12 the year before. He came to a team that was 4-12 the previous year and the only reasons they won the games it did was because Romo won 3 of them and missed most of the season.

Come on, man. They were a season removed from 12-4 and a Dez no-catch from going to the NFC championship. They finished 4-12 the following year after losing their #1 WR week 1 and their starting QB week 2.

it possible and we all know he wasn't going to sign a deal like that but again while he overperformed his rookie contract he was offerred a deal after 3 years which at the time would have put him at the top of the league in salary, so all this talk about back pay is ridiculous if you ask me, he turned down a deal or stopped negotiating or whatever and decided to play his rookie deal out. He is owed nothing except good faith negotiations by the team and by his management at this point

Its clear you don't understand the way in which Irvin was saying he was owed back pay.

They won 12 games WITH Romo though.

My point is you guys can't sit here and tell me Dak isn't very good but this team is when this team is the one that was right there to go 1-11 without Romo. That is not a good team. That is not a good coached team either.

Losing Dez and Romo is not a excuse.

he's just wrong

You mean like you were about Dak?

You want to go there? I got nothing better to do for a few hours. I'll start, name me one other Elite QB in the history of the game who got tagged? Emphasis on Elite cause that is what you claim Dak is, not a Kirk Cousins. Teams that believe they have an Elite player at the QB positition don't mess around with the tag because the guy is elite so they find a way to get a deal done

Later then by the way i edited the post you quoted so go back and see what i asked! ;)

If you can show proof I claimed Dak was elite, then Ill have this conversation. Otherwise I have no interest wasting a few hours talking to a lying troll.

That's what i call a copout, so show me one franchise QB who has gotten the tag (i took out the word elite for you) Dak is suppose to be our franchise QB isn't he?

Dear God, then what does KC owe Patrick Mahomes ??
lol 200 mil at least !
they will have to pay him some back pay before he signs though. It will be for future efforts, but when a guy wins a SB
on the first contract, they always get signed for whatever amount.
Mahomes is gonna get too much probably.
