I get you totally and agree. But that’s not always on this board. More negative feelings

We can;t let them bully us fans. Let them call us names like homer and haters. And they trot out pure stats and ridicule our "eye test", that we have used for DECADES. Do you remember when there wasn't an internet and when we just watched Dallas Cowboys football on an antenna? Or yeah "basic" cable? Let's do that again.

Still can't believe we got him at 17.

Have a feeling he is going to be better than Dez ever was and if Cooper stays healthy and productive over the next 4 years, Lamb is going to have some huge seasons...even with Prescott throwing to him!

He's gonna be a star but not this season, it will happen in his 2nd season going forward, just the way i see it playing out with MM as his coach, he tends not to use rookie recievers alot in their 1st seasons, at least that has been his history

Better career overall, but maybe not ever beating Dez in 2014 or 2012.

For any rookie but especially a WR, the situation they are drafted into is very dependent on the situation the player is drafted into.

Ceedee is coming into an amazing situation. This offense nearly produced 3 1,000 yard receivers last year and he is not going to have to take on an opposing teams best corner initially.

A maybe top 10 WR coming into an offense with a top running game and a top 10 NFL WR. CD is probably the 4th threat a team worries about after Zeke, Cooper, and Gallup. At most this year he passes up Gallup and becomes the 3rd. His YPT should be incredible.

I will not debate the psychology of humans over the internet let alone on a sports forum. Who is thwarting who? really? Very childish and superficial direction....and I won't have it.

If you do not understand the concept of the fundamentals of playing guitar...then we don't have very much common ground to have any conversation here. Music theory and knowledge of the guitar basics....are a science. I'm not a metal guitar player, not blues, not lead or rhythm...I am a guitar player in all and every aspects.... with SOME teaching experience...by request. I have also played bass in bands, play drums and trumpet and I also record and run live sound. You could play anything you want....and I can tell. It most certainly is NOT "arbitrary". Personal taste.. what you listen to or play...is, surely. But I don;t worry about such non sense. If you are good then you are good and there are telltales.

So...I am going to disagree with you WHOLE HEARTEDLY and with prejudice...but with decades of knowledge and experience.

In regards to our team...I find common ground. I hold hope and excitement that much of our previous ills are coaching. I have said that anyone who makes MM's roster has a free pass this season. I'm going to give them a chance to be coached by a super bowl winning coach and his staff. But then I admit I am not an NFL expert like I am guitar. So....just another homer opinion there.

First off, you perhaps need to get a sense of humor. My comment was more for Risen than you. Hence why I copied his post in the reply. Your post just piggy backed that response.

Second is I do not need a lecture on this team, nor the guitar. Your comment of pretty good leaves me cold since there is nothing finite about it. In this world there are pickers all across this country who never made it for one reason or another, but were/are wizards of the fret board and the concepts which govern it. The real tragedy is there are some who should have broken through, but didn't. They are in their 50's, 60's, and some in their 70's. They have no savings, hardly any Social Security, and the door is closing rapidly for gigs because, for the most part music is a young man's game. Pretty girls don't go to venues when the players have grand kids. No butts in seats, No Grandpa's on the stage.

And yet their playing is so sublime it's a joy to watch them take a six string to a spot few can go. But I guess that's because I have always appreciated true artists. However all those boys around Dallas who fit this definition, pretty good could maybe get you a job as the guitar tech with them. So this is tomato and tomato. Leave it at that.

Last point. My initial post in this thread was to start a conversation and get away from the boot licking of Lamb. Not that I am not thrilled he was drafted and cheered that on for an hour before the Dallas pick. To maybe engage people in some football talk and not the love hate responses which seem to be the soup de jour around here.

What did I find. Some stranger I have never seen on this board reaming me about an article I mention and its age.

I don't need your resume.
And I damn sure don't give a rat's wrinkle about your soap box and lectures.

You assumed something about me because of my first post. About my attitude of this team. Don't do that.

Gallup put up 1,100 in 13 games.
Cobb had 800 in 15 games.

Also these two had tons of drops, he has a lot of potential in this offense to put up big numbers.

Dez was really good when he was trying to get paid. If Lamb even approaches that, we'll be extremly lucky.

Still can't believe we got Cee Dee Lamb at 17......Why? If he was that dominate of a receiver why did he last until the 17 pick? On top of that I don't know why everyone thought that the Cowboys had such a great draft in the first place, I mean it was decent but nowhere near as good as all these so called draft experts said it was. The best part about the Lamb pick and the draft was that it blocked the Eagles from getting a solid receiver since that's what they needed the most.

We will see. Usually WR may take a year or so in the NFL before they take off. But the whole NFL will be watching him. His first TD will be one of those NFL game breaks and will be shown on all TV.

I stand by everything I said, as I am sure you do too. I did not mean to make an enemy here...just to be firm in my conviction. They have G.I.T for a reason. You have to learn the mechanics of it...THEN you can use your art and imagination. (And of course there are ALL skill levels and genres to enjoy...it's the beauty of it.)

Much like an athlete does. They don't go out and perform their art for 3 hours every Sunday. They have to drill drill drill and drill some more. And you perfect the mechanics of it so you can go out on Sunday and work the magic. So while there are some intangibles....like will power and drive (I call The Michael Jordan Effect).....the experts know what they are looking at. I also think athletes and the game have changed in the course of 40 years.
I made no insult to you about your attitude to this team
Again...I meant no contempt or condescension....not trying to make enemies. But I will not participate in the "underoos" kind of thing. When called out, I will always reconsider my position or statement. I went back and read what i wrote...and it stands.

I'm hoping we can get back to some common ground....GO COWBOYS!

Well 4 offensive linemen and 3 QBs went ahead of him. Just because he was the 3rd WR taken, doesn't mean he isn't a stud. Its time to look at talent in tiers, and not as a list. If you don't know why people think we had a great draft, I don't know what to tell you other than you didn't follow the pre-draft closely. No one really thought Lamb would be available at 17 or that Diggs would be available in the 2nd. We also got a DT that would be taken in 2nd rounds of mock drafts. We also traded up for a center who could fight for a job. We possibly have 2 starters and multiple rotation players in year 1 of this draft. If you can't see that as a great draft, I can't defend it much more really.

I mean the really questionable picks were ruggs to the raiders and 49ers taking kinlaw. Tampa wasn't taking a wr neither were the falcons. But like I said we got lucky theres no need to get salty about it.

Not salty about it, player dropped in the draft we see it every year, it is not new. Good fortune that he did slide but Cowboys still had to pull the trigger or they could have traded back or could have gone defense. I agree it was the smart move and glad they pulled the trigger on the pick and the fact they did does deserve credit. People have no issue blasting this organization for bad moves and rightfully so but to claim they deserve no credit for good moves I think is wrong. Just my opinion.

There was no move. They didn't actively do anything. We got lucky. The value lined up with team need throughout the draft for us. I don't give credit for doing the obvious

I thought he was even a possibility at 9 to the Jags, but I knew there was no way in the world he was making it past the Jets at 11, Raiders at 12, 9ers at 14 or Broncos at 15. Then, I am sure like 90% of the fans, I thought, he is going to be sitting there and Dallas is going to pass on him and regret it for 30 years like Moss... We are going to pass on the next Hopkins to take the next Peppi Zellner! Glad they proved me wrong!

You had an issue with Peppi Zellner?

Did they pick someone else like a defensive player? No did they trade the pick seeing how WR was not a pressing issue? No they stayed true to their board and took the BPA but there are always option but they choose to stay and make that pick.

Two Deep,, its more than his bio,, I know you are astute in player evaluation, but no need to worry about CD, he was the best in class in this draft, don't over evaluate the pick.
All Cowboys fans will love this man, he is a receiving beast, and I rarely anoint any rookie WR with that.
This man will probably retire the 88, but it will be interesting at that moment,, Irvin and Bryant should be included.
Early.. yes,, but that's how much I love this player,, he is different than both in a very special respect.
Not sure if I am following you perfectly, but if you are suggesting these two should be included with CD, please don't forget Drew Pearson. One of the very best Cowboys receivers ever.
