Ohhhhh Colin Cowherd....

If you've watched or listen to Colin long enough (me 10-15yrs) you'll find his takes are every where to put it mildly....

He annointed Dak a Franchise QB after only 6 games???

I was still figuring out how to get Romo back in the lineup..... @PAPPYDOG let's agree even I know Dak wasn't the best QB on the roster October 2016

June the 9th and still no news on Dak new mega deal.
I guess you won't be getting that signing bonus from Dak's PR office.:banghead:

Cowherd’s argument about Dak makes no sense at all. The Cowboys were picked to be 3rd place or lower even with Romo as the quarterback in 2016. In 2015 the Cowboys finished 4-12 with the best offensive line in football. We had a 1,000 yard rusher plus Dez and Witten. The offense carried the Cowboys in 2014. The argument with Andrew Luck makes no sense at all. He still had Peyton’s roster and a weak division to contend with. When the Colts made the playoffs, the Ravens beat them with ease. Wentz played nobody the last month of the season and the Eagles defense was the reason they beat us not Wince. The Eagles have a stacked roster that won the Super Bowl with a backup. Cowherd needs to be truthful with his arguments.

but they won many playoff games and Super Bowl. Dak hasn't won anything. In fact he has missed the playoffs two of the last four years even with all his weapons.
It wasn't just Dak that missed the playoffs, the "Team" missed the playoffs also. I forget that it is a one man game....darn me.

I mean it’s true. No QB in the history of the NFL has started their career with a better OL and RB combo. Now his receivers on the other hand, have not always been up to snuff but that was reflected in his bottom of the league passing TD totals the first three years.
I'll let the facts speak for themselves....

2004 Ben Roethlisberger
Alan Faneca 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Jeff Hartings 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Marvin Smith Pro Bowl
Jerome Bettis HOF RB
Willie Parker 2x Superbowl Champion; Longest Run in Superbowl history 75yards

Just Facts....

2012 Russell Wilson
Max Unger 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Russell Okung Pro Bowl
Marshawn Lynch & Beast Mode RB Combo
1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl

2016 Dak Prescott
Zach Martin 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Tyron Smith 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Travis 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
Ezekiel Elliott 1st Team All Pro & Pro Bowl
RB Combo...??? Lance Dunbar???Alfed Morris and Lance Dunbar:huh:

I stand by what I said, and I wasn't talking about just the rookie year as much as the first four years (I was more clear in my second post). Roethlisberger is a good one though, he probably is number two and the guy had a ton of help which is why they were able to go 15-1 with a rookie taking over early in the season. Faneca will be a HOFer any day now, but the other guys were not in the same class as the Cowboys lineman. Bettis was washed up and Parker is at least a notch below Elliot.

oh, yeah, lets listen to Colin who has been wrong most often than not on many things....he is a radio personality head, that needs to generate headlines so he can get clicks and ratings....right now Dak is hot topic, so he is piggy backing...given there is no other sports news really, they have to fill airtime with something to keep people interested...

colin sucks, even when he was giving cowboys positive news....not a guy I ever listen to or put any credence behind is opinion...
Wasn’t to long he was on the Dak train and liked him.

Here's some another facts, didn't both Wilson and Big Ben win SB's withing their 1st 4 years starting in the league with all that talent? I know Wilson got there 2 years in a row winning it once and made the playoffs 4 straight years and Big Ben went 5-2 in the playoffs his 1st 4 years winning the SB...what has our guy done with his talent

I too will omit the rest of my commentary in fear of breaking forum rules ;)

Colin can't evaluate a damn thing! I'll never forget when he said after Dak Prescott's first game as an NFL quarterback he said and I quote "Jimmy Garrappolo is a franchise quarterback and Dak Prescott is not" that's all you need to know about Colin Coward's evaluation expertise!

Jimmy Garropolo has gotten his team to the SB Dak has not....seems to me like Colin is more right than wrong

Plus

Dez Bryant - former All pro and Pro Bowl 2016
Amari Cooper - Pro Bowl x 2 in 2018 and 2019
Jason Witten - former All Pro and made the Pro Bowl in 2017.

Prescott wasn't exactly throwing the ball to garden furniture.

So since 2015 Wilson hasn't even had any Pro Bowl let alone All Pro olinemen? If so, the line has been as bad as I thought!

Perhaps an indication of what's to come if Prescott is paid the big bucks unless the front office is able to continue running the franchise exceptionally efficiently with limited dead money and nailing draft pick after draft pick. Little margin of error.

Ok fair enough, but same holds for Dak. Over 4 years Tyron has been 1st team All Pro only once (2016), Zach has been HOF bound, Travis regressed into retirement due to health issue, Zeke has been improving off field. WR by committee etc etc all teams have warts...

so you are saying with a mixed bag of talent and a horrendous coaching staff Dak achieved a Exclusive Franchise Tag worth $31.4M

Like I said if you judge Dak over a 4 year span (51 games)....there is no question he hasn't over performed
