That's what i call a copout, so show me one franchise QB who has gotten the tag (i took out the word elite for you) Dak is suppose to be our franchise QB isn't he?
I cant think of one, cousins is the only recent one I think. he wound up going to another team for his contract.
Bottom line is most good to vg QB's get overpaid, and then after that dont come close even to a SB .
I just see a trend that if you overpay at QB your not going all the way.
It is possible, and Mahomes may be able to do it, have to wait and see.

My entire point was to say that teams that want their QB or really believe in their QB don't let it get to a tag they are usually all in on them from the get go and don't dick around with a contract. Cowboys seemed like they were all in last season when they offferred him approx 32-24m before the season, Dak turned them down, then they watched the season and i don't think they are as sure...expecially with Dak's reported demands

No Covid discussion, no political discussion so if you intend to discuss something "bigger" that doesn't involve either of those, then we are good.

Yeah, I've heard this before. Seen it before, teams last, players come and go. Popularity could die but who does that impact more? The CBA is directly related to revenue and profits. If that goes down, then so do player salaries. Owners pay out a percentage so it's backed in, so to speak. Players don't have as much power as they think, IMO. But like I said, if you feel differently, that's cool.
That's the beauty... substantive differential thinking...(out the box as some would say) is cool. We agree and as usual we'll see

Michael Irvin says Cowboys owe Dak Prescott 'back pay' for 'stealing' four years of his career

In other words, Irvin is firmly of the belief that Dallas needs to pony up the dough.

No.

Pay players for what they are *going* to do, not what they've done in the past.

They won 12 games WITH Romo though.

My point is you guys can't sit here and tell me Dak isn't very good but this team is when this team is the one that was right there to go 1-11 without Romo. That is not a good team. That is not a good coached team either.

Losing Dez and Romo is not a excuse.

Sounds like more of case for Romo to me...I agree on the coaching part and I hear you too...that team didnt have Zeke or 3 real good, young wrs either or even 2 for that matter.

What Michael Irvin is espousing here is entitlement. Dak shouldn't have signed his former contract if he felt it was insufficient. He isn't entitled to back pay for something he agreed to in the first place. It's just absurd to think that way. Michael is much too smart of a man to actually believe entitlement is the way to go. He needs to change his mindset to be more realistic.

Those receivers are the same receivers Dak had in 2016.

Zeke wasn't here in 2015. You are correct. HOWEVER, Darren McFadden was FOURTH in the league in rushing despite not starting every game. So its not like the running game was a issue.
