The guy that DET overpaid for all of 7 sacks!!!!!!

Flowers has always been a good/not great player. They really do sound like the same player.

i heard one of the YouTube guys compare Bradlee Anae to ex-Steelers James Harrison. i like that comparison best.

Same type frame, same speed to power edge rush style, first step quickness, same ferocious manner and array of hands, leverage usage.
Hopefully Anae becomes same type impact difference making player for us in due time.

Yeah, Anae is a guy I think will struggle with the speed/athleticism of the game. No technical assessment or anything like that. Just the ol' eye test. If he can become an Anae-hilator at the RDE spot early, it could be the missing link this D needs. Highly doubtful for me at this point though.

Well, yeah, Flowers was overpaid, while Anae hasn't even been signed, nor paid yet.
I doubt he'll be overpaid as a rotational guy. It's premature to assume he'll start.

Cookie cutter comparisons between two totally different human beings / players are beyond silly, they're asinine...

I hope Anae is not JAG in the long list of mid to late round draft picks. That they tout as great value for where drafted. Saying how a position change or defensive scheme change had them out of place, or from the 3-4 to the 4-3 (Taco anyone?). Then 3 years later they are gone.

Remember Russell and Tapper and Gardner at DE, then Carrell and Ivie and Bishop at DT.
Yes, those were from the old regime. Anae is from the new. So hopefully they hit on one this time. Same for Gallimore as opposed to Hill. But I still hold out hope for Hill with the new staff.

I don't care who any player is compared to, just show us on the field.

Armstrong had a pretty good year. 2.5 sacks in about 250 snaps. If he was a starter that would have had him at about 7 sacks, which is adequate. That would be good production for Anae, who will likely get more snaps than Armstrong.

I think if Utah's pro-day had not been canceled, he would have performed much better there and he would have gone in the 3rd round, and we would not have had a chance at him.

I think he could be the steal of the draft. I love watching his Senior Bowl tape.

The NFL has seen a lot of DE’s with good college production and less than elite tools never translate that success to the next level, while others have had great careers. Kevin Greene was a walk-on in College and a 5th round pick, but he’s in the top 5 in career sacks in the NFL. Corey Moore had 31 sacks in two years at Va Tech but only played one year in the NFL.

Anae doesn’t have great length, and his 10 yard split was good but not great. My expectation is somewhere between Michael Sam and Terrell Suggs. All that said, I think he’s the type of guy who should be able to beat 1 on 1 blocking if he’s getting help along the DL.

People need to go watch more tape. This kids hand are unbelievable. If an Olineman can’t get a hold of you he’s toast. That’s his best attribute. He’s out of this league with his hands.

Not sure anyone thinks he's starting? At least not this year. With Armstrong, Smith, Crawford, Jelks and the possibility of Randy coming back will make his road to actually playing games in the NFL a tough one. But I think he will get there and be in the rotation fairly soon in his career.

I thought Harrison was more of a speed rusher?

What's even more asinine is coming into a discussion w/ an empty head and throwing insults for no reason. Very weak, dude.

And we still have Armstrong.

That Marino guy seems like a Marinelli special too, but we'll see.
