Andy Dalton QB "Man is it nice to have a legit backup QB"
Dontar Poe DT "Are you kidding me? This guy brings vet experience, leadership AND production"
Gerald McCoy DE "Are you kidding me? This guy brings vet experience, leadership AND production"
Cameron Irving LT "Solid backup for the Oline"
Daryl Worley CB "Former 3rd pick who is versatile"
Ha-ha Clinton Dix S "Former Pro Bowler who has started 96 NFL games. 96!"
Greg Zuerlein K "Forbath better come to camp prepared. One of the interesting battles in camp"
Blake Bell TE "The Ying to Jarwins Yang. Zeke applauds"
Maurice Canady CB "Big CB with excellent speed. Can he make the team?"

Combine this FA class with by all accounts one of the best draft classes this year and there is reason for hope. For you haters who pray for an 8-8 season I know it's a tough pill to swallow because you live in the negative, but there's no reason not to be excited about this up coming season. Oh, and also there's an almost completely new coaching staff with SB experience.

Thanks for the reminder......Now if they play up to their potential, they have a great chance of at least getting to the NFC Championship game.

There is reason to be pessimistic.

Along with those new players is a completely new coaching staff who don't know any of the players.

Add to that there have been no OTAs and mini camp to put the coaching staff further behind.

Now you hear about the preseason being shortened and it gives the coaching staff even less time to get the players acclimated to their new schemes.

Teams like Dallas will start the season further behind than those teams with little change from last year. This is a major disadvantage.

Dallas had maybe the best offseason of any team, but circumstances may negate that.

We as fans won't know what kind of team Dallas has this year till week one, and maybe not even then. I want to hope for the best, but right now that's wishful thinking.

Defense is my only worry because it’s a new scheme. But Marinelli was so bad that we may be at least as good to start off and get better as the players learn it.

Our ST will be much improved.

Our Offense won’t be much different except some of the terminology and sets. MM said he don’t want to instal new. Plus we are familiar with Moore playcalling. I am thinking the addition of a few players and everyone should be healthy then we should be good. Our O-Line will have a new face or 2 but mostly the same players.

The reason I am not as worried is because we have a actual real HC that knows clock management and isn’t so conservative. He will go for the throat. He will make adjustments. We are for sure improved in that category. We make the playoffs and we will have a real chance. The players won’t have to win despite the staff..

Don't get me wrong, I think this team improved in all three phases. But as luck would have it, the virus comes and throws a monkey wrench into the works causing one to pause. You have to, it's an unknown variable.

I could see a scenario where the season doesn't go according to plan and the shorten offseason could be seen as one of the factors(excuse) for underachieving.

My excitement is not just quality talent but leadership they're bringing to the locker room. BTW, let's not forget Aldon Smith.

On the flip side, these are all professional players, mostly with experience in the NFL, and they know most of what they have to do, and what they don't know they can learn without being on the field. I think the only real issue is working together as a team on the field, and learning to gel together. In that regard, they're not in a much different boat than any other team, after half a year off.

Coaching is better but I think talent is overrated especially on defense, I like the idea but we will still need a better pass defense and pass rushing overall. The one thing I hope is that the mega contract players will actually step up and be NFL leaders instead of being half-hearted and inconsistent. We know who they are.

So you think the COVID-19 only negatively affects the Cowboys?

No one said the defense is Doomsday only that they have acquired big time upgrades in talent. Do you disagree with that?
