It's cut-down day and one's gotta go. Who gets the pink slip????

Hill is a young and cheap player but immature with questionable work ethic.

Crawford is the complete opposite ....hard worker, excellent leadership, lot of dirty work that doesn't show in stats but expensive ( final year of his current deal).
Cut Crawford now :hammer:

Who you keeping ahead of them?

I've got Smith, McCoy, Poe, Lawrence, Woods, Gallimore and Anae (unless Gallimore or Anae completely sucks). That's seven out of possibly 10. Crawford and Armstrong would at least be next in line, so that realistically leaves Hill battling with Jelks, Jackson, Carter, J. Hamilton, L. Hamilton and Marino for that final spot. If Gregory gets reinstated, then I could see the possibility of Crawford vs. Hill, et al for that final spot.

Crawford takes a $4 million pay cut and does what Sean Lee did last year.

Hill and Crawford will both be on this team this year.

No camp yet...that’ll tell the tale. Preferably go with the young cheap pilgrim. Maybe big Mike and Nolan can light a fire under that backside.

I dont see Hill making the team. I have said that since Marinelli and his keen eye for talent shuffled off to Las Vegas.

Hill. he is younger, has the tools. maybe new coaching staff can salvage him. Crawford at most is here one more year, so if it comes down to that, then you take a shot at a guy that may have a future.

The Joneses won't cut a 2nd round pick after 1 season in which he barely played. Unless he's terrible in camp.

He was an obvious mistake. Its best to put obvious mistakes behind you, the sooner the better. The fact that he was a healthy scratch as their top pick, in more than half their games, in a position of need speaks volumes about his future IMO. It wasnt Marinelli soured on him, the guy couldnt play. The fact that they took a DT in third round this year only cements my opinion.

Can someone remind me again why we have training camp and preseason games?

Because , if the OP 's question can be determined now, then what's the point?

As for Trysten, I saw nothing that made him prominent emphasis on him being top pick. That pick will have me scratching my head for while.
If you expected to see something, then your expectations were too high. He was almost a 3rd round pick who came here needing to work on his game not ready to step onto the field and make an impact.

They should trade Crawford, cut Hill and replace both with one of true talent. One's a mediocre tweener, the other's a bust. Just my 2 cents.

lol ..you know u made it sound bias for who you want.

Crawford is will be 31 years old sometime in November coming off not one but two hip surgeries.,
he was slow coming into the season, he's dealt with bursitis and issues with his Gluteal muscles.
and we are expecting him to have enough burst and range to excel off the edge at RDE ?
and he operates best when he is at the nickel rush inside at DT. So is he gonna be that plan
with Gallimore and Hill in reserve.

Crawford is not at all a candidate for backup 1 tech at a mere 285 pounds.
Tyrone has experience and versatility at both DT and DE, and he's seen as a leader among the DL, dunno if it exceeds the supposed leadership of Dlaw, but he's supposed to be respected that much among teammates and coaches.

- Look at who else is a candidate for starting DE - Gregory ? who has been out of football over a year.
who has been out of football for most of his NFL career, and who still is learning just to play DE
and has very little starting experience.. But he has flashed some surprisingly decent run stopping defense.
Terrific 1st step get off,and bend agility, but he can't be subject to an excessive amount of reps and snaps.

- Alden Smith is now up to 285 lbs, but he has been out of football for 4 years, and he will always be
on egg shells with trying to get back on track and always will be one oops mis-step for being out of NFL
for life.. Seems like another guy you'd want in a rotation than starting at RDE.
When he has been on, he's a pass rusher extraordinaire. Great power with very long, strong arms, great agility
and hand and leverage work, and a terrific knack for rushing the QB.

Bradlee Anae ? He's a green rookie who may be more help as a situational pass rusher than a full time
player who may have some run defense flaws he needs to kink out first.
and Anae is gonna have to still battle Dorace Armstrong, Joe Jackson and Jared Jelks as the other
DEs to try to make the 55 roster.

Dorace Armstrong ? years ago, he was supposed to be the talked about rave of Bradlee Anae.
the guy that played like his hair is on fire despite a poor pre-draft workout and a final year that only saw him
record 2 sacks his final year at Kansas.
he's been in the rotation, hes been inactive (dunno if injury or coaches decision) and he's also been just average and decent. This is barely a rotation worthy and definitely not a starting DE.

Keep Hill. Easy choice.

Crawford should be on the trading block. If the Cowboys don't get any offers, then he should be on the cutting block.

I'd be thrilled to get a 4th for Crawford. A 3rd would be a dream come true.
Although keeping BSU players ON the team is always a good thing, I can’t disagree with this...

Except for keeping Hill.. That kid is a total BUM and we all know it.

4th? 3rd?!

Crawford wouldn't bring a 6th in trade. Maybe a conditional 7th. But probably not. And I like Crawford.
