The best profession

Is there anything you'd rather do for a living than be the starting Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys?

It would have to be pretty special and obvious I would guess, like the singer in a successful band or a film star or an astronaut etc..

Anyone got anything weird (other than nasty ailments)?

I'm a stick in the mud so moderately wealthy without having to work or
being famous would be better than ANY of the things suggested above.

The best profession is individual . It is defined as something you really enjoy or are passionate about. If you get lucky enough to have one of those, you never work a day in your life.

I made my career out of what I enjoy doing, so no. I wouldn't rather be the Cowboy's starting quarterback. (the money would be nice, but happiness is more important than money and money is usually the root of unhappiness)

I will admit that since moving into Executive Management, it's not quite as enjoyable as it was when I was just an engineer. Now, I oversee technical architecture, but do not build it anymore. (well, except at home) I architect and engineer people now which is a lot less fun. Actually, I'm introverted, so it's not fun at all really.

Finally, I do not want anything to do with stardom. I'm a private guy and as I said. An introvert.

That job would be the last one on my list of QB jobs in the NFL. The life in a fishbowl and being around the Jones would not be desirable to me.

to have been Coach Landry's apprentice.

to have been a member of Elvis' memphis mafia.

Absolutely NOT. I WANT to be the first NFL female quarterback! But only, if my agent @dallasdave allows it.

Just be happy in the moment. Everything else follows. But ya, singing and creating something beautiful is timeless.

Is being retired a profession? If so that's my dream job .Hope to get there one day.

After some thought, My true calling was a conservative talk show host.

I recently retired from a profession that I never really cared for. I made very good money and retired early. I've been successful by any measure in career, family, money, you name it. I'm a happy and satisfied man. But that being said, I'd do it differently if I could.

I remember being in high school and dreaming of the life I'd like to have. I decided that majoring in a foreign language would be my ticket. My dream was to go to a university and learn some exotic language. I'd then work for our foreign service, or a church/benevolent organization, or some international firm, or even the CIA in some corner of the world that needed a language speaker that was willing to live far away. But, then well-meaning, earnest adults around me started tearing that idea apart. Relatives and family friends seemed to line up, telling me that it was a bad (and somewhat irresponsible) idea. I ultimately followed their advice. But now, I wish I hadn't. I wish I'd stuck to my guns and followed my dream. I see now that their advice was hemmed in by their (understandably) limited view of the world and its possibilities. So, in answer to the OP's question, my best profession would have been a guy that helped to bring people together and solve problems in a remote place that needed me.

That or be a backup QB for the Cowboys.
