I think they might’ve actually won less games. Remember Jason Garrett. No special teams zero. Worst special teams in the league
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and if that's yours then fair enough.

I respectfully disagree.

Yeah I know I’ll get slam but I don’t care I’ve been watching this team since the late 60s. Prescott is a winner. But this is America’s team and people don’t like him. And I explained why

My point is did you even watch Mahomes play you already said you didn’t watch the Super Bowl. You have to watch in order to comment . In fact there are many analysts that agree with me. And there’s just as many that don’t. So I do respect your opinion but I don’t agree.Be good be safe my cowboy brother I’m late I got to go

I think Prescott has 97 touchdowns to 76 Mahomes.

You stay around this site long enough you read everything.

Now Mahomes is an overrated scrub.

Pretty soon someone will say around here that 1+1=3 and that nobody will ever tell them anything different.
Did you see the statistics Mahomes versus Prescott last season. Almost identical. And we had Jason Garrett and far less of a defense and zero special teams. In fact Prescott has more touchdowns career than Mahomes. So yeah I like him better Character and everything

. People don’t want to admit it. They don’t like Prescott because of Tony. But the kid is a winner. Imagine if he had the coaching like Mahomes has
You make an interesting point and I do think it could have been very different.

e.g. if Romo had came back in to start when he was healthy in 2016 (the late win vs the Steelers really hurt the team that season as but for that I think Romo would have come back in), started as QB in the play offs and started the 2017 season as QB with a view to it being his last season then I think the transition would have been far smoother. Fans would have had closure on Romo and would have taken more to Prescott and been happy for him to get rolling after Romo had retired. Even some players would have benefitted like Dez who suffered and regressed whilst playing with Prescott. Add in Prescott having another year to learn from Romo then I think he would have developed more as a QB and sooner.

I'm frustrated with Garrett and the front office for not bringing back Romo in 2016 and 2017. My opinion of Prescott is based on his actual play. He came in as a rookie and did a great job filling in. The decision lay in the hands of the front office and head coach not Prescott.

Are there qbs in the league that are winning super bowls without everything aligning for them? What a dumb statement from a guy that is paid for rational discussion

I don't think many fans dislike or hate Prescott etc. Some just didn't take to him so have no opinion. I don't like or dislike him. He's just another player to me. It's more to do with style of play. I enjoy watching quarterbacks like Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson, Peyton, Romo, Lamar, Brees etc. I find Prescott a boring QB to watch play if I'm honest. If he wasn't a Cowboy I would not want to watch him. His play to date has been risk averse and he doesn't take many shots and it's mainly very safe. That's not even a criticism really. It could be viewed as a positive. Maybe it has been the coaching I guess we will see next season. He's the type of QB who won't lose games but he won't win many when asked to either in my opinion.

Regardless of your feelings toward Cowherd, there shouldn't be any disagreement that Dak is hard to evaluate.
This board of die hard fans is very divided on him.
Every video i have seen where someone breaks down film, leaves them saying "I just don't know". They all admit that the good & the bad of his game are maddening to analyze and that he has been surrounded by a lot of favorable conditions.

You had closure on Romo he didn't slide in a preseason game. That's it. His body gave up on him. This team was rolling with him on the bench. It became prescott's team. The playoffs wouldn't be any different because Dak's game in 2016 was better than anything romo has ever done in the playoffs. Even though our defense gave up the game. Get over it. Slobbering over a QB who couldn't stay healthy and wasn't a winner is unhealthy. And if you are one of those fans that became a cowboys fan because of Romo I feel really bad for you.

Another great comment.

Probably if we take all homers and all haters in basket we have a true Dak evaluation? o_O

I don't think we really know who or what McCarthy wants to ride with. I think we know that we are in a position to either sign Dak long term or move on and the position we've taken is to tag him for one year. That's really all that I can say, at this point, that is definitive in this area. So what does that really say? I think the jury is still out there, to a degree.

The cherry atop the cake will eventually come with the results of the negotiations yet to be undertaken. Whether the franchise tag remains intact or not begs to be answered. I'm sure the Cowboys FO would prefer to see Dak sign for the terms they've suggested already.

It certainly remains to be seen if Dak and his agent will stand firm on their demands or finally agree to compromise. If so, to what result would a contract agreement be likely to occur? This is the question that begs an answer.

Before long, we're likely to find out. Whatever happens, here's hoping it works out for the betterment of all concerned. I think a fair offer is already on the table but that's just my humble opinion. I'm hoping clear thinking and good faith bargaining will occur in the days to come. ;)

Romo was nothing special but he was a far better QB than Dak will ever be.

QB's are judged on their wins and losses. Don't act like Dak is the first to be a victim of this. Very unbecoming.

Dan Marino one of the best QB's ever.....frowned upon for never winning a SB. Even with Jimmy. You ready to put Dak in his league?
Do your thing and I'll do mine. Wins and losses are a team stat, it's not debatable. Your point is unrelated and irrelevant. Dan Marino is still one of the best ever regardless of not winning a Super Bowl.
Why? Because there are 50 other players included. Judging a player simply by wins/losses is lazy and only used to defend an agenda.
