Is There A Better Fit For Dak?

We’ve dissected Dak’s Cowboys future ad infinitum.

Considering all the many scenarios of his either remaining a Cowboy or departing, here’s a question:

Might Dak and his agent believe he could possibly be a better fit with another NFL team (football success, potential salary and endorsements, etc), rather than the Dallas Cowboys? If so, which team(s)? Personally, I don’t see it.

Haven’t really studied this in detail, but maybe some of y’all have.

Thoughts?

Dak makes bank off of endorsements. Leave the Cowboys and watch that money source dry up. Only a moron for an agent could possibly think playing somewhere else could be better for present, future, and after retirement future income. Aikman and Romo are going to make more money after football than the total they made from playing football. How much Money is Mark Rypien making after football? Mark who you ask???? Exactly

Only way he makes more endorsement money with another team is to win a SB with them. This Offense is being built around him and has major talent. Is there another team you can think of that has the weapons and O-Line we have that don’t have there starting QB already.

At this point I hope Dak plays on the tag this year and leaves in free agency next year. I'll just root for another team. This fanbase is a disgrace tbh.
Whats more disgraceful is abandoning a team you have supported because you don't agree with responses from a silly message forum.
Your a Cowboys fan, probably born that way like most of us.
Stop your silly talk Cowboy!

He will get more because it is the Cowboys but how many do you recall with Romo? Those deals do not happen unless he makes them happen on the field.

Closest comparison that I can come up with is Tennessee, with Tannehill.
Very similar roster build when you look and compare both.

For most there are 2 DC teams, the one we watch play and the one we discuss here.

What would you imagine this would be like had it existed when Meredith played, the Morton-Staubach contest, Danny White or Aikman's rookie season? How many would have had to eat crow just from Aikman's rookie season? How many would be trashing Jimmy Johnson after that first season?

Ya see, before this came along, I thought I was the only nut in the can. Nobody can have the thoughts I have when they play like crap or some player screws the pooch but then I met my Brethren of the Board, beginning on the DC.com site, and I thought holy lobotomy, there are some worse than I am. But I loved them because they make me feel normal. In fact, very, very normal.

Our family and friends are thankful we all found this so they don't have to listen to us. However, during a game, they should never come here. The wives would be "omg, I am married to him and he is the father of my children and he's certifiable".

I suspect a big part of the problem the FO is having with Dak all started when they decided to pay everyone else in a vain attempt to bring Dak to his knees. Meanwhile, he sat back and saw others getting the overly-generous considerations that he might have had otherwise. That was an ill-considered ploy that likely had Dak loathing what he had to sit back and observe. It's now clumsy handling on both sides.

Jerry and Stephen appear to have a heavy-handed idea of how to handle otherwise less complicated bargaining methods. Now, they're dealing with a QB and his agent who are hell-bound to extract what they felt they were entitled to well before everyone else got theirs.

Ultimately, both parties are seemingly dealing with less than kind-hearted mental attitudes. Hopefully, cooler heads will come willing to negotiate and to give and take as cooler heads should. It's well past time to be willing to deal in good faith with one another. Even children often do better.

bahahhahahahahahhha.

You just showed how much of a "Fan," you are. Fans cant jst chose to root for other teams, no more than a heterosexual could just one day say... Ive had enough of those nagging woman, IM changing to men.

You are a DAK fan, not a Cowboys fan if thats how you think. I loved Dez Bryant, Id root for him on the Saints, but never be a Saints fan...... because I couldnt, even if I wanted to.

Yes, tech changed the entire world.
If there was an internet back then, there would be no difference than the debates we have now as Cowboy fans.

Romo wasn’t into it until later. He did starter and got 5 year 10 million in 2008. Now it’s sketcher and Pizza Hut and corona. A few others also. I think he gets paid from direct tv.

Bully, I am so on board with this and am surprised everyone doesn't see it. The comps don't just apply to the position on other teams but other positions on their team as it did with Bell in PIT. People criticize him for the money part not considering what his motivation was.

Look at the history of the Joneses with the star players. Why wouldn't the QB play the game the same way?

Look at the agent's article I posted. It looks at everything comparatively. What does he say Dak should get? Nowhere near these rumored offers. Right?
Oh, I'm very familiar with the article.

Basically written in the context of an agent directly representing Dak Prescott.

Just doing his job of painting things from the player's perspective...as he should if he wants to be a good agent.

Then there is the other half of the equation.....

The best fit for Prescott would be on a team with a stout D because that best compliments his style of play. At Miss St, they rose because of that D.

I think he would be a good fit at MIN but a perfect fit at NE because he's the type QB Belichick prefers, one that doesn't make too many mistakes. His association with Brady made some forget what he's all about. He doesn't expect his QB to win the game because he has his D but he doesn't expect him to lose it either.

He would also be a good fit in SF because of the run game and D.

Any team that asks their QB to execute plays and not create them would be a good fit.

The article was written for the masses, not other players. So you think what he wrote wasn't a fair ask the way he broke out the numbers and made comparisons with what other players have made in the past with the contracts they got? I mean, that's how it's done in that industry. He even acknowledges that he wouldn't expect the Cowboys to give the full amount of what he believed to be fair which is why he plays with other options as well.

If you think his view is slanted, tell me then, what did he get wrong in calculating his figures? And how does it explain the gulf between the 5yr./$175M - $110M guaranteed rumored offer you think is a good one versus the 5yr./$190M - $130M guaranteed deal he thinks is fair comparing what others in the industry have received, including Dak's own teammates? To do that, you'd have to explain this "other half of the equation" or at least contrast points in that article you believe are off base.
