He will get more because it is the Cowboys but how many do you recall with Romo? Those deals do not happen unless he makes them happen on the field.
Direct TV, Sketchers, starter, under armour, AT&T....... dont kid yourself. Romo was bringing in a nice chunk of cash. Most important though, look at him now. You think Phillip Rivers is gonna be making the coin romo is in 5 years from now?

bahahhahahahahahhha.

You just showed how much of a "Fan," you are. Fans cant jst chose to root for other teams, no more than a heterosexual could just one day say... Ive had enough of those nagging woman, IM changing to men.

You are a DAK fan, not a Cowboys fan if thats how you think. I loved Dez Bryant, Id root for him on the Saints, but never be a Saints fan...... because I couldnt, even if I wanted to.

You must drink that Henny for breakfast.

And there are Cowboys "fans" who have turned against players like Dak who has been nothing short of exceptional for us. And who even put anti-Dak comments in their signatures. Those are the fans who need to find another team.

Go Cowboys!

Play him on the franchise tag this year and see how he does with the new coaching staff.
Re-evaluate next season.
I’m ok with that, but....
It would be really hard for ANY current NFL starter to not look good with this offensive lineup.
He's going to put up good numbers, and then we’re back right we we are now, but a year latest.

I'm not worried about numbers. I want a Super Bowl championship out of him.

Why? Your post contradicts itself. If one is a fan of a team, that means the team is above all, and a player may or may not be included in that team's fandom. In bashing people for not liking Dez, you're doing what you're accusing others of doing. Are there really not any players you'd rather see leave?

I root for all Cowboys, but people only are concerned with Dak now because we have a salary cap, and Dak impacts that cap. Nothing more. Dak has been good, not exceptional. Mahomes has been exceptional.

He would be a back up most likely. Unless there is a injury. His best bet is to sign the contract and continue his endorsements here where he gets the most. If I were him I would sign the contract and not bet on himself another year. He injured his shoulder last year and should not have played the egirls game. Now we have Dalton so if he isn’t careful he will find himself making way less and being a back up for another team and hoping for a chance to start again.
???!!! Oh sarcasm... sorry my bad. I'm kinda slow lately.

Last year. There's a whole article about it. Just Google "Dak contract offer, 2019" and it comes right up. He declined 33 mil/year w/ over 90 mil guaranteed.

The guaranteed money was too low (especially for a 5 year deal).

Considering that Dak wants a shorter Cowboys contract, so that he might possibly in the future sign a second mega-deal, would it be in his best interest to go to a team which may not have the pieces he would need to excel in order to earn that second large contract?
This is my question. I'm not saying he can't but I think the question of whether he can carry a team becomes especially interesting if he negotiates his way out of Dallas. I understand the idea that he "deserves all he can get" and all that but whether he wants to acknowledge it or not he has it pretty damn good in Dallas and may have a hard time finding better anywhere else. I have no idea how the endorsement opportunities would compare being with another team, what the personnel around him would be like somewhere else or what living would be like in another city but I know that all those things are A-list in Dallas. Would he really walk away from that, plus a locker room of teammates ready to run through a brick wall for him?

It really wasn't.

Too many are falling for the idea that if one team overpays, everyone needs to.

The market is what it is. Just like you gotta pay $1500 a month for a broom closet in New York City. You might not think it's worth it but if that's what you want you have to pay up.

With mike McCarthy in Dallas now, probably not any better fits... NE or Carolina are the only two that could be good fits since they have pretty good teams but NE doesn’t have but one offensive player worth anything.
Dak has the most opp for success here now.

This is a ridiculous thread that the Prescott haters will go crazy in. Here's what the Prescott haters who want Prescott gone from the Cowboys just don't get. They have their lists of reasons to get rid of Prescott and if they are right (only in their minds) then ALL of the other GM's will know them too but the haters also expect all of those other GM's to pony up draft picks for someone that they have seen the same things the haters say. The haters think what they see and think is just some secret only known in Dallas and GM's won't know this and will jump at the chance to trade for Prescott.

Go Cowboys!

Its this kind of polarised view that fuels the argument.

He isn't exceptional, he isn't average.

The money asked for and offered appears close.

It appears to be the number of years that are being contested.

Whilst interesting to dissect the situation and scenarios the issue isn't: talent, stats, external market.

Its just both parties negotiating the fine details.

At this point I hope Dak plays on the tag this year and leaves in free agency next year. I'll just root for another team. This fanbase is a disgrace tbh.

The Dak-Crush is strong with this one......

Then the market wouldn't be $1,500/month. But, if their is a shortage of apartments the price goes up. Same with NFL QBS. There aren't enough quality QBs to go around, and teams are showing more and more or a willingness to pay $30-35 million/year, so that's where the market has trended.
