Well, Jerry is coupling it with another unreliable guy and crossing fingers.

If not theres good ole Tyrone C ready to light up the stat sheet at only 500 grand a Sunday.

But, but, but... "
(from the DLaw whining crowd as well)

"It's not about sacks, he has line versatility and is strong against the run...
And, and, and...
Pressures.

No, news flash. Third Down is called The Money Down for a reason.

On the defensive side of the ball he needs to be the widely feared sack guy on 3rd down who takes it personal in preventing the offense he is defending from continuing its drive. A game changer and impact rusher who makes consistent SACKS of the QB on 3rd down in order to justify his contract.

The other side presents the offensive representative responsible for continuing that offensive drive and will make a pinpoint accurate pass on third down, and has demonstrated as such on numerous occasions over the years or you don't have "that" guy.

Third Down. The Money Down. Was overlooked in a previous thread.

Dallas has neither the defensive or offensive guy that performs up to the level of the above mentioned description for success (consistent with said described contract for both as well) On "THE" Most Important down. Dallas has neither.

and Randy, when he did briefly play just came right in and looked good immediately

He never looked good immediately. He looked very good in preseason his rookie year but did nothing once the regular season started and ended up getting injured which killed off that season. He suffered his first NFL suspension after that. The only time he ever looked good was during the last 4-5 games of the 2018 regular season when he had 3 sacks. It appeared he was finally emerging but did nothing in the playoffs and was suspended a month later. We haven’t seen him since.

Can’t recall a Cowboys player ever making more news off the field than on the field than Randy Gregory. At least 95% of the topics about him are either that he’s been suspended, awaiting reinstatement or he’s been reinstated.

He's only failed about 15 drug tests.

When did we draft this guy? 2008? lol Feels like that. Great pick Jerry! I'm hoping 2020 is the year he finally gets it together??

Could this be the icing on our 2020 off-season cake? Great draft, offense looks like it *could* be among the very best in the NFL, and now maybe our D is getting better?

Nope...this is the icing on the, "No Football in 2020 cake". The only reason Goodell is reinstating him and Smith is he knows we are not playing this year........

Just kidding of course....I need some football!

Delay in the decision though. It doesn’t say a delay in a decision that would be good for us. Couldn’t the logistic delay be explaining why he’s still suspended?
It sounds like the league just has so much on it's plate that they haven't got to him yet.

I know that in my industry, a lot of things are moving more slowly because of recent national crises. For example, instead of bidding a project in January, as I originally planned, I am pushing to get it out for bid in July. This is because factory lead times for equipment have gone from 8-12 weeks to 26-39 weeks due to factory closures, or factories working at 1/2 capacity. Other suppliers have gone completely out of business over the past few months, and we are scrambling to find new suppliers. With many organizations short-staffed, or getting lower overall productivity due to existing work conditions, it is not necessarily shocking that it may take the NFL longer than the standard 60 days to rule on Gregory's reinstatement request.

Which brings me to a larger point. Procrastination kills. I have someone on my team who failed to order some equipment early for a project that was due for completion on May 31st. We are finally getting that equipment delivered and installed tomorrow, and the client will not be able to move in until Monday, June 22nd - a full three weeks after they were promised full access. There is absolutely no excuse for the equipment not being ordered much earlier, and I've been stomping mad about this for the past 6 months, because I TOLD THEM to stop waiting, and get the equipment ordered. They procrastinated, and I'm paying the price for their procrastination with a missed commitment.

Gregory and his team should have applied for reinstatement long before the current national crises even started, and they have only themselves to blame for the delay. NEVER assume that conditions won't change. ALWAYS get things done as soon as possible. That is the ONLY way to assure that you can meet your deadlines. Unfortunately, we all work with people who are lazy and/or just don't understand the urgency of getting tasks accomplished quickly. As such, we pay the price for their laziness and incompetence. The Cowboys team is enduring the costs of the laziness and incompetence of Gregory and his legal team. And I say that as a fan of Randy Gregory.

Sorry but this isn’t like your industry. Gregory has to meet certain criteria first before applying for reinstatement and that criteria changed when the new CBA was signed on the 15th March.

Gregory case isn’t as easy as Aldon Smith. Aldon is practically the poster boy for reformed player. As far as I am aware Gregory is still addicted to marijuana so there’s reason to believe his is more complicated.

It would seem crazy if under new rules and fact Aldon just got reinstated that Gregory wouldn't. If he doesn't though Cowboys should explore Griffen.
