The 2021 safety class is strong.
Hang on to that first round pick.

Strong draft class only matters if you are willing to pull the trigger and actually use the 1st round pick on a safety.......

I’d have a very hard time believing that considering the reason he wants to be traded is he wants to be paid.
He doesn’t trust the Jets.

They quietly put out word they would consider trading him and then the contract stuff on top of it

May this point it’s not just about the money although that is certainly the biggest part

Oh my gosh your avi gives me a deep desire to go fishing.
Haven't done it in decades! Well two decades, but that's a long time!
Hope your family is doing well, boss.

Thank you brother, they are well. Hope the same for you and yours.

I had a lot of fun going out with my son. Hope to head out again once all of this mess is over....

The Jets appear reluctant to address his contract because they own his rights for another two years, plus a potential franchise tag in '22.

They have him on team friendly terms $3.5 million this season, $9.9 million in '21. The latter is the amount of his fifth-year option.

Adams wants to become the NFL's highest paid safety, sources said, meaning he would like to eclipse the $14.6 million per year the Bears are paying Eddie Jackson.

It's all about me, myself & I. I want to be the highest paid player at my position blah blah blah. When's it going to end?!

Actually, I think there a quote out there of admitting just opposite. Think it goes something like he wasn't looking to be the highest-paid safety but pay him whatever he's worth. I'll see if I can dig it up.

Best safety in the league who is 24 years old

Not worth a first round pick in the 20’s

Gotcha

More like a 1st, a third and Mike Gallup to boot. There's the Jets demand for ya.

Normal disclaimer (not reading whole thread)

If Adams truly wants to be the highest paid safety in the league, how can we afford him but not able to re sign Gallup?
Also I'd rather have Gallup (unless Adams truly can change our defense a la Haley, but that seems doubtful) if we could only sign one of them. Seems like their demands would be similar (around 15 17 range).

Admittedly if Lamb is as good or better than people think , that may end up complicating the issue.

Supposedly there is also a list of teams Adams will agree to be traded to that he would not immediately demand an extension. My bet is that Dallas is on that list.

It seems he wants an extension so don't know how true? I would guess he's willing to play out this season provided the team is willing to extend following year. But who knows.

Lol. Adam's is too impatient. Like Dak, he too will get paid.

Yes, but there is a big difference between the two, Adams is very good and he wants to be the best paid, nowadays the best paid earns 14.6M possibly he can be given a salary of 15M, Dak is an average QB, and he wants to win 40M !!!, a very big difference, let Dak go, and sign Kaepernick !!!

But youd be ok selecting a safety that may bust with the first rounder youd trade for him?

Just so you dont have to play that player?
Whose to say we’d draft a safety?

maybe a stud DLinemen falls.... CB.... Olinemen

If you told me one draft that we’d snag Lamb where we did I’d laugh and tell you no chance.

It’s interesting how time goes on our FanZone NFL insider credentials grow.

so, it’s now. 1st and a third and Gallup

tomorrow it will be a 1st, a 3rd, Gallup and Diggs

By Saturday people here will be saying it’s a 1st, a 3rd, Gallup, Diggs and CeeDee

After seeing what happened that one season when Romo got hurt and we tanked to 4-12 that season I no longer start locking in safe bets for draft positions

Say it’s pick 4th overrall... still worth it?

Just repeating what was being reported at the time all this was happening. Not my fault you didn't see it. o_O

Nevertheless, it's a non-issue. The whole thing boils down to the fact that the Jets didn't even want a deal.
