Cheaper options I would look at for tight end include Njoku, Nick Boyle, Vance McDonald, Jordan Akins, Foster Moreau, Adam Shaheen, and Gerald Everett
I would like to take a look at Njoku but if Mike wanted him he would be on the rostor alrrady

Who is taking a Dallas Cowboy te in their Fantasy League?

Enough said. That alone speaks volumes on what we currently have at the te position.

OMG, a non-Dak thread...how could that be (or did I just make it a Dak thread LOL)….

although most are elated that Witten is gone (I didn't think he was as bad as everyone made him to be, but clearly wasn't the answer), knowing that the team had been looking for his replacement for years. most are excited about Jarwin, and projecting based on fantasy football, etc. for him to get first team reps and just double/triple his out put (half joking)….Jarwin is still green and his game leaves a lot to be desired and we just don't know how he will do as a full time starter, where he doesn't have to line up every down, block and he didn't have to deal with primary defenders and was an after thought on offense and often played against weaker defenders and only succeeded in certain plays......

although we have CD, Coop and Gallup. zeke and pollard, the TE position is lacking both in starter and back up....we signed a FA TE who is primarily a blocker (so his use is predictable).

there was talk about OJ Howard, with Tampa having signed Gronk and paid Brate, Howard maybe the forgotten man. so is he available. can we go after him. what will it take. having Howard who doesn't have great stats, but good and can be a decent blocker and decent receiver with some speed added to the TEs would only make that position into a strength and de-risk Jarwin being the primary and right now the only viable TE on the roster...

so would it be a bad trade sending Lewis to Tampa for Howard? they have a need at CB and we have a need at TE....win win?

-The front office needs to see how Jarwin will perform with starter reps. Even in the year that Witten missed, he had a limited role. There has been some rumblings that Moore call the plays in that season finale in which Jarwin has his best game of his career. We need to see what he can do, before giving up draft capital to fill the need.

Some of you are going to be in for a big shock. Jarwin is going to absolutely GO OFF this year. I firmly believed he was going to make a big impact before we even drafted Lamb,.... but NOW? WHOA! Gonna run a ton of three receiver sets,...with Gallup Lamb and Coop Jarwin will FEAST in the middle of the field.

https://www.espn.com/fantasy/footba...fantasy-football-tight-end-ppr-draft-rankings

ESPN has Jarwin at #20. I think that is to low.

Top 10:
1. Travis Kelce, KC
2. George Kittle, SF
3. Zach Ertz, PhiQ
4. Mark Andrews, Bal
5. Darren Waller, LVQ
6. Evan Engram, NYGQ
7. Tyler Higbee, LAR
8. Hunter Henry, LAC
9. Austin Hooper, Cle
10. Rob Gronkowski, TB

Imagine running a set with Zeke, Jarwin, Coop, Gallup, and Lamb all on the field together. Ummm,..... yeah, with the attention the receiving core will draw Jarwin will feast bigtime. And thats with Zeke staying in to block.

Higbee at #7? Seems awful high. Last season was his "breakout year" and it wasn't even that great a season. His first 3 years were similar to Jarwin's. Higbee also has a larger contract. Hoping Jarwin has a better 4th year than Higbee had, but it doesn't need to be a monster year. With the 3 WRs, Dallas doesn't need a 100 reception or 1000 yard tight end. They need someone to control the middle of the field and score TDs. The totals won't be as important as the efficiency. Get those critical 3rd down conversions, move the ball and score or set up scoring situations.

It probably is too low, but there isn't much history in Jarwin's corner at this point. Assuming we have a season we should have a better feel for where Jarwin really fits next year at this time.

So which one do you think Dak will like the best. And do you think he will sign. And do you like Dak. Lmao, there.. I made it a Dak thread. Lmao.

Lol. Seriously I think Jarwin will work very well as our #1 TE. Dak is comfy with him and Jarwin finds his way to the end zone. I am hoping his blocking improves. If we trade for one it would have to fall in our laps. We may see some 2 TE sets more. Didnt MM like that formation.

I just HATE those 20 and 30 yard runs after catch that Jarwin does. He's a vet, and he can still learn to be a better blocker. No TE mentioned on this thread is a substantial upgrade, at a reasonable price. Use those resources elsewhere, like on defense. We haven't had a great S since Woody, or CBs since Deion and Kevin Smith. Let's upgrade the D and roll with the vet Jarwin.

Newman was a great CB.

Not sure of the current contract details of those you listed, but I do know this ..
Njoku - only 23, and 1st round pick by the Browns
Boyle - why did you even mention him?
McDonald - He is 30, and worse than Witten
Akins - 28, hasn't shown more than a catch or 2 a game while in Houston..
Moreau -
Shaheen -
Everett - only 25 and round 2 pick by the Rams,,

Njoku and Everett best two on your list.

Higbee got hot at the end of the season, recording over 100 yards in
4 straight games, including the Rams playoff loss.

Its a really interesting idea since Lewis and Howard are both such wildcards. But with the lockdown preventing minicamps and the coaches not having as much information on Diggs and Robinson (or anyone else in the new scheme), I would think they play it safe and avoid moves like this.
I totally agree
In a normal season we would probably be looking at the cb depth and trade options but this is far from normal

The Rams didn't make the playoffs last season. He has 66 career yards spanning over 4 playoff games played. He did go on a good 5 game streak to end the 2019 season. He accumulated 522 of his 734 yards(1406 career yards) on the season during that streak. He did squat the first 11 games of the year. He hasn't done enough over his 4 year career to justify his #7 ranking on that list. He has as many question marks as Jarwin in my opinion.

I think a 20th Ranking is a very favorable ranking for his skillset. A te with no 50/50 ball skillset is a Jag imo. He scored in blowout games against the Giants and against a banged up philly team. Austin and Pollard are better skilled players as the 4th receiver imo. We coulda shoulda got Jared Cook last year but we paid 4 checkdown guys and a fb lmao

It takes about 3 games. If he cant produce he is only part of a rotation. The tes looked good for 2 games and then they got served! It was as bad as watching swaim. Run some dual slot wrs and rb formations for goodness sakes. Open rate, catch rate scoring rate.. Ya got 5-6 guys who can play slot with motors and a durable running qb

My bad on the playoff comment. I misread the wikipedia. Final game eliminated from playoff contention.
Still, 4 straight 100 games puts him quite a bit ahead of Jarwin. He could be 1 or 2 spots lower, but a
TE getting those amount of targets is in high demand in fantasy football. He's definitely trending upward.
