Sad you have reading comprehension issues, metrics are great have Seth share them with DLaw and the hot lads so he can read how great the metrics say he is because it isn't showing up in the GAMES and that's all that counts, is that simple enough for you. 20 Million 5 1/2 sacks what a super star, I know it was the HC coach, the line coach the DC the CB's the safeties. Believe what ever you want and what ever subjective metrics you want simple fact is DLaw stinks. Wonder what ailment he will come up with this year.
I don't have reading comprehension issues, you just wouldn't pass 10th grade English.

Other linemen need to step it up. Being doubled on every play wears one down. Not all tank's fault.

Contrarily he's not doubled team every play, that's what the excuse givers want to believe.
Even Donald, Watt and Mack are not doubled every single play.
And the Cowboys are not giving him that type of mega record contract to have those kind of excuses.
You can observe full Cowboys games available on YouTube with the eye ball test and see how much
DLaw is single beating the blocker in front of him and how often he is double teamed.
But even if he reverts back to his 10+ sack form, we need to be a much better pass rushing unit across
the board - that includes the opposite RDE, the interiors and the rotation/depth guys as well.

YOU ARE USING THE EYE TEST by saying he was a no show, and then using one stat from the box score. People who don't know what they're watching are generally the same people who point to things like sacks and INTs as evidence of anything.

I can't understand the gibberish of your last two sentences, but these are the metrics I care about.

Doubled more than almost anyone, won his rush more than almost anyone. That is OBVIOUS on film. The "no show" is just from fans who are jealous about another grown man's money. That's all.

Great post. Only the “sack stat” folks believe Lawrence has declined. True football fans realize it takes a TEAM for individual players to excel. Unpopular opinion: Lawrence really missed Tyron Crawford last year. Crawford’s experience and willingness to do the “dirty work” like stunts, run into double teams, etc.. allows Lawrence to run free and/or win his one-on-one battles.

Folks are really down playing what the additions of DTs McCoy and Poe will do to create opportunities for our DEs (Not to mention Nolan’s Defensive scheme). Lawrence will have a great year.. no question. Will he have a record year? Not so sure.. bc Smith may have something to say about that on the other side. This DL is going to surprise teams.. and apparently, the pessimistic Cowboys fans. Go Cowboys!

I'm holding high hopes that DLaw renews his high-intensity ways as a premier pass rusher this year.

I think he's just about ready to return to his old self. Last season, he was hampered by his old injury.

the problem with the eye test for some is the eyes merely pass on information to the brain which creates the image. and some brains, either thru bias or other handicap don't interpret correctly. tank plays hard. others have to step it up. newly added beef in the middle should be a big help.

D-Law's pressure numbers took a step back from an eerily consistent 2017-18, but some of that can be explained by his shoulder surgery.

His sack numbers were still way off from what his pass rush win rate predicted they should be. He won more of his reps than TJ Watt, Myles Garrett, Joey Bosa, and Shaq Barrett, and they had 14.5 sacks, 16 sacks (on pace), 11.5 sacks, and 19.5 sack respectively. So I'm taking his 5 sack season as a law-of-small-numbers fluke. DLaw was still winning like a 11-15 sack pass rusher.

Already starting to make Brandon Carr's contract look like a bargain. There's "overpaid" and then there's criminally overpaid. Tank is the latter. Epic contract fail.
It doesn't look good, but it's premature to say that definitively just one season into the contract.

Yep. History has a way of repeating itself around these parts. We had a guy by the name of "Almost" Anthony Spencer get some undeserved contract money too.
Same storyline...
But, but, but...

He's line versatile, strong against the run, gets a lot of pressures.

Those true War Daddy's are a rare thing since Ware's departure.

I guess we all should ignore the fact that Lawrence is a LEFT DE going up against right tackles.

Well, I guess there's a few good right tackles in the NFL and we have one in Collins and within the last 2 to 3 years their avg annual salary did rise with the times.

But there's a reason Offensive "LEFT" tackles are paid what they are. Let's not forget. Lawrence faces RIGHT tackles.
In my opinion he should be a much more impactful player. His onfield production is way way below the contract he's being paid.
