Great post. He totally is like a way better version of Marshall Faulk who makes everything work and will relegate Ezekiel Elliott to a back up, short yardage role player.
now hes better then Faulk and was backup in college? the sarcasm grows as the legend of yet another DC BUP RB in the making..

wheres rico..lol

Have Zeke on the field for pass protection, and maybe some in between the tackles stuff in short yardage. Don't see any reason for him to be on the field over Pollard other than those situations.
You really can’t be serious?

Will he be our jack of all trades and be lined up at wr? I feel he will be. In the NFL..the element of surprise in a new scheme and with a new mindset is key. How will teams defend us when we have you spread out? lol?Its pick your poison. Each skill guy we have can take it to the house..but Pollard is like Marshall Faulk..you better know where that guy is at all times. HELPS OUT EVERYONE on offense. CEE DEE will be great, but Pollard will be the X FACTOR THAT MAKES IT ALL WORK. Zeke may find himself phased out unless he finds a niche in short yardage and goal line. THOUGHTS?
We are a long way from knowing that Pollard could carry the bulk of the workload the way Zeke can. He never even did it in college. Accordingly, it's a stretch from what we know now to indicate Pollard could cause the team to phase Zeke out.

Also consider that part of Pollard's success last year could be attributed to the situation noted in the thread title - that he was able to fly under the radar. The more touches he gets, the less he will be able to do that, and the more teams will game plan for him. I'm not saying he can't still perform very well, I'm just saying there is a lot we would have to see and learn before knowing what impact, if any, Pollard could have on Zekes role with the team.

I’m trying to be polite and not say how idiotic it is to want to play Pollard over Zeke.
If you want Zeke over Pollard for runs to the outside and receiving work you really should give up on talking football. It's not for you.

Ni if you are wanting to bench Zeke for a guy that has never started then you need to give up football.

I like Pollard but he couldn’t even phase out other running backs at Memphis
Not really true. He played more snaps than the "starter" and they were on the field together most snaps...

slants would be another way to get him the ball quickly. NO MORE of this 7 yard drop back stuff..it will be timing based...ie west coast offense.
Pollard in college was as good at catching swing passes and turning to run without delay as any player that I've ever seen.

That slight delay that most players have from having their head turned back to catch then transiting to run makes a huge difference in the yards gained turning that wide corner. With Pollard it was all one seamless motion.

NO Zeke is not a fossil , hes not going to be phased out , he can also catch the ball, major threat in the pass game, can block better, and oh yes a great Tailback in the run game teams still have to account for..

I like pollard, has upside and potential but zekes not a one trick pony, therefore can be an asset in any Offense..just because the last staff forgot to use the RB in the pass game on regular basis doesnt mean EE cant still be a threat like 2018..

Pollard is not better then zekes , he will be a great backup to utilize in many ways, thats it..

Yes for one thing Pollards a bit small to be a full time running back, at 209 lbs he'd have problems staying healthy, and second you don't sit your $15 million a year back so a 4th rounder can play. And we all remember how well Marion Barber did as a part timer, then when he was given the starting job he was not nearly as successful.

Pollard has value, but he won't get nearly the work Zeke will, and that's the way it should be...

teams will be focused on ZEKE AND THE WIDEOUTS. We can expect Zeke and Pollard in the same backfield too...Think about it, how do ya defend that? Look at KC..its a copy cat league. Dak will need to be on point quickly.

I'd love to see an occasional package of coop, ceedee and Gallup with Zeke and Pollard motioning between backfield and split wide.

Or two of the wrs with jarwin.

Pollard had 139 carries in his college career and Henderson had 431 over the same time period.

Zeke has not progressed in the passing game since coming to Dallas. He was a better receiver at OSU. Hopefully MM can help.
77 receptions in 2018, 54 in 2019. 7.8 yards per reception. If he's thrown the ball, he catches it.

Didnt Pollard have a costly fumble and also get hurt last season. Im not really sold on Pollard to be anything more than a 6-8 carry and 3 catch RB. I wish the Cowboys would put more stock into the RB2 position.
