Troy to Playmaker
The timing and chemistry between the two was a beautiful thing.
Aikman would throw the ball before Irvin was coming out of his break, to the point were on occasion Irvin and the ball met at the same time and surprised him...lol

No Dak and his WRs included on this list?

Have people forgotten Dak's 14 game winning drives in only 4 years so far, which is half of Tony Romo's franchise-leading 29 game winning drives he accumulated in a 13 year career? Troy Aikman had 20 game winning drives during his 12 year career, and Roger Staubach had 21 game winning drives during his 11 year career.

If one does the math (comparable % to years played) and each QB's ability to scramble to give their WRs time to get open, I'll take the one ones missing from this OP's list: Dak Prescott and his WRs.

Id take Dak against the Commanders or Giants but not if this was a playoff game or against a good team.

I don't trust Aikman's accuracy if protection breaks down. At least Romo and Dak can throw on the move. Romo had Witten in his prime, he'd prob be my pick.

How many big games did that Romo to Witten combo pull out?

A figment.

Roger to Anyone. He could extend a play.

The candidates are:

Roger to Drew Pearson
Roger to Tony Hill
Danny White to Drew Pearson
Danny White to Doug Cosbie
Troy to The Playmaker Michael
Troy to Novacek
Romo to T.O.
Romo to Jason Witten
Meredith or Morton to Bob Hayes

My top two choices:
Troy to The Playmaker Michael
Roger to Drew Pearson
I like Roger more than Troy. But I would absolutely take Troy and Irvin in this scenario

Actually the more I sit here and think about this I really don't think there was more of a for sure connection than Romo and Witten. This is a really tough question. I might actually take Romo and Witten on 3rd and 5 over any connection in NFL history. If it's 3rd and 8 or more then it's a completely different ball game.

Where's Quincy Carter to Antonio Bryant?

Anyway, I saw Roger hit a 4th and 17 with the game on the line, under pressure against a great defense in horrible field conditions to Drew Pearson. The pass was cheat code perfect. Catching it and staying in bounds was another challenge. I have to go with those two. A 3rd and 8 should be routine.

Anyone without an agenda would have to put Aikman to Irvin on the slant high up on the list.
Irvin loves to say he could catch 8 of 10 with a blindfold because of Troy's accuracy.

A good point was made about Romo to Witten with the Y-option. I think, because Witt stuck
around too long, many forget how great he was in his prime. He will be in the HOF.

Roger to the original 88 was, well, the original. As a child, I would toss a football as "Roger",
then dive onto my bed, catching the pass as "Drew" for hours when I was 6-7 years old.
