Very nice recap but it still doesn’t explain a 50% completion rate for someone who is supposed to be as great as some of you make Tony out to be.

A 36% QBR? Yeah, you could say the Vikings brought it and not only was Tony exposed but he was also sacked 6 times in that game. I don’t care how bad the O line was, he was too arrogant and cocky (or dumb) to get rid of the ball quick enough not once, not twice but SIX times!

So about Romo’s first playoff start, nice to know he had a great game but unfortunately he also set the standard for what he would do the rest of his career, choke when it mattered most. Little did we know at the time that that play was giving us a glimpse of the future. Good to know the same thing happened to the Giants and Commanders, I wonder if they still constantly talk about the guy who dropped the snap like he’s some kind of god.

You say you’re not making excuses for him but you go on to talk about all the players who dropped critical passes. Do you think that doesn’t happen to other great QB’s, why don’t you bring up the passes he missed or wide open receivers he didn’t see? Because those were far more often than the few plays that a receiver dropped the ball, that’s why.

Actually, the hate is what I call reality. I’m glad you like to live in a fantasy world where your hero did no wrong and you can’t move on but maybe it’s time for you to face reality. Tony failed several times when it mattered most.
It's football. It happens. That's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes but propping up Dak's playoff performances when he's losing in very similar ways as Tony did is absurd.

Early in that game, announcer states Dez just caught his first playoff TD.
Late in 3rd, he states Witten just caught his first playoff TD.

I found that shocking after the years they both put in with Tony Romo.

1 2 3 4 Final
gnb-2016.png

Green Bay Packers 7 14 7 6 34
dal-2016.png

Dallas Cowboys 3 10 0 18 31

Typical Dak game as by the end of the 3rd Q the score was Packers 28 and Cowboys 13.
Dak came back against the Packs PREVENT defense in the 4th (Garbage anyone) but it wasn't enough as Mr. Rodgers had the last say in the matter.
May I ask where Dak was in the first 3 Quarters of the game?
May I also ask when was the last time we won a shoot out game????????
Think NEVER!

Can you extend the same courtesy to Dak?
What courtesy? They both did not get the job done in their playoff games. What do you want a participation trophy because he tried real hard in defeat? Kill that noise.

I agree neither got the job done. That’s not the point I am making.

I have to give you credit. Adding the NFL logos in your post drew my attention away from your screen name and avatar long enough that I actually read one of your posts.

I will have to be more careful in the future to avoid wasting the precious few brain cells I still have.

I never brought up Dak once but if I did I would say Dak has already done half as much as Romo in about 1/4th of the time.

SMH...

How little people understand about physiology (and I'm certainly not claiming to be an expert)...

At that time, Romo's back (and core) was probably the strongest it had been since 2013.
You are possibly right about one thing. The back traumas and surgery may result in a stronger structure. But..... they will result in reduced flexibility making his back more susceptible to future back episodes/trauma. The spine, by design, absorbs physical shock with it's flexible nature. A snippet from a medical article on Romo's injury recovery:

"For Romo, as long as there are no complications, this means he will be back in time for training camp. Unfortunately, additional trauma (which is likely given his position as a quarterback) and aging (which is inevitable) can worsen back pain or cause further back injuries. But for now, he should be on the road to recovery."

Parcells called Romo liverwurst on rye and said he would be a snack for NFL defenses. Bill was wise.

Mine as well for a non Super Bowl loss. What aggravated me most about that loss is we had the win. Had that dopey WR Doug Donley (who I never heard of) not dropped that 3rd down pass late in the game at the 49ers 40 yard line, game was over barring a turnover. The Cowboys have a history of dropped passes at the worst of times.

great memory I also remember that one and thinking there goes an opportunity. Crayton stopped route fits the mold of big game conversions missed

Don't forget the Crayton drop on 3rd and 13 over the middle with room to run. Right in his hands and the rest would be history. There would be no Crayton stopped route. Then you have Jackie Smith, Dez, .....

Of the truth.....where was Dak Prescott the first 3 full Quarters of this game?
Scoring a measly 13 points to the Packs 28.
Now open that book of excuses you have and post away!!
HF....

P.S. Pls remind me when we won a shoot out game ....you know where offenses go back and forth scoring points all game long??
Since the Pitt game in 2016 zilch!!!!

So you think I'm this big Dak lover? My problem with you is you're either #1 not that smart which is unfortunate and I feel for you or, #2 and the more likely scenario, you're lazy and your response to my question of denial pretty much puts a lock on #2 which just happens to remind me of your posts.

See, I don't really care whether I disagree with your viewpoint on a subject; people just appreciate some effort in discussing those differences. If you are just going to put out rubbish, I can just as easily skip past it. As I said, you used some logos to "brighten" up a post so I happened to read it. Maybe try something different once in awhile and maybe some of the non-Dak haters will consider your posts. Surprise me!

It makes no difference to me how you feel about Dak.
What does concern me is folks forgetting reality and why we lost that game!
3 Quarters 13 points.....

Then why would you bring up my denial in response to my post then drone on about Dak?

Maybe it is #1.

romo shouldve started. no way he loses to green bay 4th and 5th stringer dbs. after the game, green bay coaches were like *** why didnt u start too romo

**** garrett. only reason he did that was because he know his leash was bigger with a rook than with romo. **** that guy
That porous GB pass defense.....you could fall off a bus and throw for 300 on those guys.
They were ranked 31st in the league that year.....31st!

Yet they won a ROAD playoff game.
Not at Lambeau but on the freaking road!
Amazing.
