Lol. He was never holding out. He has no problem playing on the tag cause next year the market value will only go up...
Yep and he's betting on himself again and the Joneses have to figure out if they're betting against him.

I really like the idea of him going through this season, should it happen, on the tag. I liked it last season when he played for a contract. I hope they don't do a long term deal, allow Prescott and McC a year to sleep together, test the bed out, before getting hitched long term. OK, I apologize, I wrote that before the visual image hit me and now I am gagging and typing.

Of course that's what we want from the teams perspective.

The longer you can push off a long term deal the better, but I think we all know what gonna happen...

He will put up nice numbers, make the playoffs but fall short of winning it all.

Then we are in the same boat, but I'll say this....they are probably waiting for the Mahomes deal to get done, then the price goes way, way up.

If Prescott wins this year, great but it will debilitate the roster for years to come because he will demand the same money.

It's a very double edged sword.

This whole contract situation has been strange.

Thought anything could happen
Not once they used the exclusive tag, it's not just 31.4M but the endorsements he risked if he was a no show.

I don't think it's been strange from Prescott's camp, they only want a 4 year deal and the Joneses don't want to be back here in 4 years. They don't do this well.

If they'd gotten this done last off season, they could have used the tag on Cooper and then rescinded it when they got Lamb and not be on the hook for 20M to a WR or at least had him for this season while Lamb transitions.

Dak will have a big season, his asking price will continue to go up, the Cowboys will franchise him again in 2021, and he becomes a free agent in 2022.

Dak has already shown he’s not afraid to bet on himself.

Lol. Are you drinking.. Lol. I just realized how dumb that question was. Lol.

I wouldn’t bet on it but I think he will get signed before the 15th.

Sure is but they're the ones that got themselves here. GB, SEA, NO, PIT pay their QB's a lot but they don't have a RB, WR, DE at the top of the pay chart and an OL with this salary.

The Joneses still can't make the hard calls.

Knowing the Cowboys Dak will have a big year and his price will continue to go up.

Jerry will regret not signing him to a long term deal immediately after the 2018 season.

I agree the front office (I.e. Stephen Jones) bumgled this whole negotian from the start. Had they signed him last year before Goff and Wentz, they could have inked him to a 5yr deal (including the 4th year if original contract) for $31mm-$33mm and $95mm-$105mm guaranteed.that will have been a bargain by the time he signs his extension.
