Dak signs his tag and JJ shops him for a 1st or 2nd round pick...Boom .. Done and finally gone. We play Dalton this year with a new HC. We go 7-9...

Some are trolls and just fans of other teams. Wanting to see us fail..

LOL...………...the DREAM scenario for these great fans of ours is see Dak cut and Dalton and his 0-8 playoff record leading the team.

Surely we will see some offensive consistency there. :lmao2::lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao:

Good chance Dak gets a new big contract. Jerry understands it's a big risk to have your #1 player playing on a 1 year tender where injury would be disastrous to your franchise QB. Plus, it sends the wrong message to Dak whom we all know Jerry doesn't want to lose since it would be nearly impossible to find as good as productive of a QB as Dak has been the past 4 years, barely entering his prime years and only getting better.

The issue has never been Jerry understanding, IMO. I don't see Dak that interested in signing with the Cowboys. He *plans* on leaving the Cowboys unless Jerry offers absurd money.

LOL...…...yah because all of 2 QB's in NFL history have played on the ta
Someone post irrefutably facts and it's fake news.

Wishful thinking on your part.

A data set of two instances means nothing. You'd have to have a much larger set of data points infer anything from this. Statistically this "breaking news" means squat. Now, I would agree that the team waiting this long means that Dak holds more leverage but what it doesn't mean is that he won't sign just because the two other QBs in this situation didn't either.

Just because Dak is franchised, doesn't mean we won't retain him in the future. Still time to work out a deal as most do. You're right that those that didn't, went on to play for a new team, but a sample size of 2 is impossible to make it a foregone conclusion.

QBs that have played the season under the tag.

Only two, both signed with other teams.

So if no deal is reached and Prescott plays 2020 under the tag, that's the history both Prescott and Dallas are facing going into 2021.

Two is not nearly a large enough sample size to reach any conclusions.

Dak Prescott will not be a Cowboy come the 2021 season.

I'll take this bet. This logic makes less than zero sense. Even if Dallas has no plans on keeping dak long term..they will franchise him again..there is almost zero change dak isn't the qb next year

The drama continues playing out and hence the speculation.

If Dak plays on the Tag it appears more certain we won’t extend him. Not only this year but beyond.
no lol history doesnt apply here , the dallas dak situation is unique.
The history is skewed because most good teams get the qb signed. They dont wind up playing on the tag.

Therefore he could still be signed, but it all depends on how he plays, and how far the team gets this year.
If Dallas just gets to the SB this year , would u still be saying he wont be signed lol?

And even if they got knocked out in div round again, if he played good, or if jones boys think he did, then they will still want to sign him.
if he plays on the tag , he has to look good this year, better than the last 2 years, and that is possible now that we have the new coaches.

Did you think it would come to this?

Who do you blame more? Dak or the Cowboys front office for not getting a deal done creating this Drama?
I blame both. But for as much as I support Dak because of his playing ability and what he brings to the Cowboys, I realized he was also in it for as much money as he could get when he fired his previous agent and hired the experienced but greedy agent in Todd France. Because of this move in agents, I guarantee it is the main cause of a new contract not have been finalized yet as of a year ago.

Since Dak is willing to sign his tendered 1 year tag, why is the July 15 deadline for a longterm contract agreement still in play? Why can't Dak's tendered tag signing allow him and the Cowboys more time to keep negotiating a new longterm contract throughout the 2020 season?

Mighty big assumption. I think he really wants to play here. That's half the battle.

He could play in the franchise tag for the rest of his career and make more money than if he signs
The rest of his entire career?

Not even close.
Can tag two consecutive years...which would be about 69 mil
Probably has already turned down 170-175mil for 5 years

If Jerry was going to do that deal (its actually been Stephen for a long time), why wouldn't he have done it already? Dak would have jumped on that deal at any point of the last 12 months.
Because they are probably hung up on how much of a check Jerry is going to write up front, and/or since Elliott's deal was written so in favor of the player, they want that too.

Maybe the team doesnt want to hamstring itself yet again, but Prescotts side is demanding it.

the cowboys have handled dak the way I said they should before JG was even fired. So far Jerry is doing pretty good not caving in. I did ask to draft a QB early, but they got Dalton so it evens out for now. If Dak still can't lead a comeback from halftime or we finish anywhere near 8-8 with him, just save all the excuses and let them go wherever he goes.
