An "exclusive" franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position as of a date in April of the current year in which the tag will apply, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater.

Despite the cap hit, Dak is worth it, otherwise, he would have never been tagged in the first place. But I still believe a deal is coming to soften the cap hit and keep Dak around for many years to come.

By the time Cousins current contract is done, he will have earned over $196M. But he hasn't signed a real contract.

He's already earned $120M and gets $31M this year. But he hasn't signed a real contract.
