As expected Dak handling this like a true professional. Not holding out will either play on the tag or get a long term deal done. Hes a better man than me thats all im sayin
I think he's afraid they'd rescind the tag because of Covid and a reasonable option in Dalton.

The league isn't clamoring for him. It's not like he's Jamaal Adams and has suitors.

Wentz, Goff, Wilson, Dlaw, Zeke, Coop, Jaylon, Collins, all got one of the below.....see Dak-Troll only TALENT gets them.....now pray they don't rescind the tag to get some defense like Adams and Griffen and build our new Doomsday with all that Dak cash saved.

You do realize that by signing the Tag... Dak is signing a contract right? And... As it has been pointed out too many times to count... Dak has been offered a contract... He chose not to sign it. Despite all of your BS "Prophecies", Dak is going to be the Cowboys QB this season. You say the Cowboys were done with Dak after last season's debacle... except, the Cowboys used the Exclusive Franchise Tag instead of letting other teams negotiate with him. Then after signing Dalton for peanuts, you said the Cowboys were definitely done with Dak and this proved it. Except, the Cowboys just let Dak sign his tag instead of rescinding it.

I'm not ecstatic about the Tag. I actually couldn't care less if it's the Tag or a long term deal. I'll root for the Cowboys regardless who's under center. I always have and always will. I was merely pointing out that he signed a contract. And... For a little over $31 million. Whether or not it's one and done, still remains to be seen.

Unfortunately, I too believe yours is an entirely safe bet. I bet it happens exactly the same as well.

Yeah I agree.

He will play, probably will have a couple of games of "man he played well"

But I feel majority of the games, especially with our schedule he will look super bus driver ish, and a bunch of Dak supporters, will try to find the next Patsy. Either Moore and say we should have cleaned everyone out from the JG era or just out right say MM was a bad hire.

The one thing they might do is play the " I'm just a fan, Jerry should have known better and gotten rid of Dak" Card.

Dak LOL well let's see if the Giants and Skins still suck he will have good games then BOOM and he's out for the count against any defense with a pulse.
Pretty boring as the above is what we've been seeing the last 3 seasons!
P.S. Thank the heavens we signed a good Kicker!!:omg:

Or... Dak plays well, the Cowboys win several games, make the play-offs, and the anti-Dak crowd moves the goalpost again... This is the far more likely scenario.

The PR spin on this is interesting. For the past 18 months we were being constantly told that Dak would get a long term deal and there is no way he'd play under the tag. Essentially Dak failed in his quest for a long term guaranteed deal before the start of this season and had to settle for the one year rental offered by the team.

Ok, who's spinning it now? Let's not get this twisted... Dak could walk into Jerry's office and leave with a long term deal today. Dak is the one refusing the deal that is being offered... Not the other way around. The Cowboys want 5 years, Dak wants 4. Trying to say Dak had to settle for a one year rental, is being disingenuous at best. Dak CHOSE to take the one year deal. He didn't SETTLE for it. There is a long term offer on the table.

Why would Dak sign his tag now? Tactically, if Dallas wants to pursue a trade extension for Jamal Adams, having Dak's tag on the books makes it tougher. A Dak extension makes an Adams trade easier. Dak just added incentive to get his extension done.
