what did Belichek do in Cleveland? what did Shanahan do in Washington? what did Jimmy do in Miami? How did Payton go 7-9 3 straight seasons? talent/players

Bellichek in Cleveland wasn't the Bellichek he is now.
Shanahan was a shell of his former self in Washington.
Jimmy Johnson took the dreadful Dolphins to the playoffs 3 times. Jimmy don't belong on this list.
Sean Payton also doesn't belong here. He's coached 15 playoff games and has a Super Bowl ring. Those 7-9 years were flukes.

How about Sam Darnold slicing you up after being off the field for over a month with mono and saying "The Cowboys just do what they do" after the victory?

As noted in the very first post, this isn't the first time a Garrett-led team had been labeled as predictable. Not the second, third, or fourth time either.

But anyone who still wants to turn a blind eye is welcomed to do so.
I won't turn a blind eye, Garrett's shortcomings are well documented, I contributed to that.

Garrett made mistakes at the HC level, that is, in the overall philosophy regarding his offensive strategy. However, I'm not sure he was as involved in the specifics of the playcalling, shouldn't the OC, QB coach, and reveivers coach take some accountibility as well?

There is plenty to blame Garrett for. This topic seems a little more like piling on.

I don;t think that record shows exactly what that team was capable of. The team was better than 1-11, in my opinion. But...I get your point.

I will stand by my statement, if maybe a little less vigorously. :D

Fair enough. Just wanted to put some additional perspective into the convo.

This is no secret, many defenders have said the same thing and been saying it for a long time! Just glad he's finally gone!! He's the Giants problem now.

You can see for yourself, look in this very thread and you'll find people making excuses (while claiming "I'm not making excuses").

Ah...well I thought it would be easy for you to say...since it's so common and pervasive. I see a few here and there....outliers, in my opinion. But okay...I will go about trying to verify your own statement myself then.

If anyone is still unclear that our former head coach and staff put us at a competitive disadvantage, here's Exhibit Z in the case:

These are statements from an All-Pro player with no 'dog in the fight', and no 'axe to grind', and no reason to tell anything other than the truth. A truth that a few still can't understand or admit.

After reading comments like this, I'm even more thrilled that the long-ended change was finally made, and our players will no longer be playing with one arm tied behind their backs on Sunday's.

Ummm....that would be OC Kellen Moore so enough with the blame Garrett for Dallas sucking yet again.

And Moore worked UNDER GARRETT. And these comments have been going on for years under Garrett. Maybe you’re a new fan?

Lol talk about excuses, 3 7-9 seasons are NT flukes. Belichek went to a better situation where he had a qb. Johnson was no where close to the same coach

Excuses? You just named all Super Bowl winning coaches. They’ve proven they can coach they are not Garrett.

I'm pretty sure opposing players have been saying this about Garrett's offense for a long time. I remember Ray Lewis saying something when they closed out Texas Stadium. I think there was at least one instance before that, as well.

And you’re absolutely right about that. But all these years later some people still can’t admit it.

Why I usually LIKE to do (not need) is ask people to back up their claims. I don't really like it when they tell me to do it for them.

IN all actuality....I guess I am not all that worried about a few people who think Garret was the best coach ever. Results speak for themselves, regardless of Jerry. So...probably gonna let this one go.

No, just tired of everyone coddling the players by giving their piss poor performance every excuse under the sun.

In fairness, the Dolphins were in the playoffs the two seasons before Jimmy arrived, and 3 of the previous 4 seasons before Jimmy arrived, so Jimmy didn’t actually elevate the Dolphins above where they already were.

I’m not being a smart***.

I didn’t even know it was a debate still.

Garrett and his staff were (are) a bad joke.

Great example. What a frustrating game that was!
