I agree in general, relative to the era we’re not getting the level of QB play we saw in the 80s, 90s, and 00s.

Top 10qb lists are so transient and unimpressive right now.

And I think if you wanted to apply that to how we grade Lamar Jackson, then you’d be spot on. Jackson is a unique talent, but the league will catch up because he doesn’t do the important things well enough.

But Mahomes is the exception, IMO.
I guess I’m just too old. The game has passed me by. But I appreciate you understanding what I’m trying to say

I thought they would catch up last year, but then he improved at the important things which is how he won MVP. I tend to not bet against reigning MVPs (same reason I will not bet against Mahomes even if he is one season removed).

Tennessee kind of did catch up though.

Jackson could very well improve, I just don’t believe he will based on personal observation.

And what I’m saying is I don’t believe Jackson, as he was in 2019, can continue to have the same success as the league continues to catch on.

Too lazy to find my list but objectively speaking I could see dak anywhere from 6-17 on most peoples list. Not going to count the few here that believe he's better than Mahommes, but I think we can all agree that you could take the top 15, maybe 20 and and get the same results or better than what we had in 2019.

Aaron Rodgers is the most gifted QB I’ve ever seen play.

Patrick Mahomes is an enhanced Aaron Rodgers.

I want Dak as my QB, but it’s not close right now. Mahomes is the consensus best QB in the league
I think maybe you haven't been watching football for very long.

Jackson was exposed in a big way in his playoff loss.

Are you looking at stats or your personal opinion. People that don’t care for Dak will rank him lower because they don’t like him.

What’s the fair way to rank them. Wins and loses are a team stat to me. So do you go with individual stats. Dak has better stats than most being ranked ahead of him.

I am not pro Dak or a Dak hater. Just wondering a fair way to do this.

Well said.

I was actually flummoxed last year when I saw Jackson unable to throw to the sidelines. A QB who cannot throw anywhere but over the middle isn't going to go far.

And he runs a lot. Someone lays one on him and he will be hurt. RG3 used to run a lot.

Seriously, do you think Mahomes played a good Super Bowl game. Do you think he’s as durable as all the quarterbacks. What makes you think he’s the best. When so many others have so much better attributes. I would love to see him on an average team.

I saw what the patriots did to him with pressure up the middle also. The kid gets rattled. But then again he is just a kid. You have to love this game of football. My adrenaline is flowing now thinking about it
What the Patriots did to Mahomes?- have you looked at what the Patriots did to Dak?

Granted the weather but its not even close!

Yeah, I hate the niners and hated him but I think Steve Young was one of the most gifted QB's ever. He had such a great combo of running ability and passing ability. I watched Staubach as a young kid but my memory is not good but he has to go down as one of the most gifted ever as well.

Maybe Rivers will catch lightening in a bottle in a new environment.
But man, last year, he looked a bit shaky

He was a lot like Winston....tons of yard but almost as many picks as TDs.

Why are you asking because it sounds a little ridiculous. Mahommes played a good super bowl. His oline is trash compared to ours, but when he was able to buy time to make the throws he wore the defense out in the 2nd half. That defense was all over him and he also looked nervous in the 1st half. But mahommes and his defense won that game in the 2nd half.

I never said mahommes is the best, but as soon as Brees is retired it's a toss up between him and rodgers.

Put Dak on the chiefs in that super bowl and the 49ers probably break the sack record. Mahommes on an average team would make them contend for a playoff spot.

Maybe I'm off base with your questions because I just find it hard to believe some don't think he's special if that's what you're insinuating.

Tennessee faced them when their TE and RB were injured and that offense went through the Marks. The only time their offense struggled last season was when Andrews was not 100%. TEs might be the best value position in thr NFL.
