I feel Ben has the upper hand right now, being a draft pick and all. Thorson was taken off waivers/signed by the old staff.
But who actually wins it is another story. I doubt MM will choose a recent 7th rounder over a better QB prospect(hypothetically) just because he was his pick.
A lot of QB's come into the NFL and have a huge learning curve. Not every QB is like Dak where they are cool and collected as a rookie. The offenses they come from in college may of always schemed someone open. Now in the pros, that same QB now sees his #1 option is blanketed, along with his #2. By the time he looks at the #3 he is either sacked or flushed out of the pocket.
Or the pass rush takes a season to adjust to. I feel 90% of being a QB is mental. Reads, decisions, timing etc...

that is what training camp is for. Neither has done anything to earn the job so they face off and go show why they should be on the team.

But is it a true increase to 55. I thought that was they can pick 2 players from the PS to bring up on the roster for the week, then decide who is active or not.
I am not sure what that rule is.

I would suspect that Thorson and DiNucci will battle it out winner likely goes to the PS and loser will be released. I don't expect to see 3 QB at part of the now 55 man roster. I think depth at other position are more vital

DiNucci is a draft pick of the new coach.
Thorson is a glorified camp arm of the old coach.
It's not a debate the way I see it. However, I would be very surprised if teams weren't keeping at least 4 QBs for this season...with some sort of roster expansion thing in place.

Plus, he has no D's in his name. Dak, Dalton and Clay or Dak, Dalton and Thorson doesn't roll off the tongue like Dak, Dalton and DiNucci.
McCarthy obviously prefers triple D's.
