It was refreshing to see a new players name pop up in the forums that didn't start with a "D" and end with an "ak", yet half of the replies refer to him regardless . It's a damn virus, I swear.

Anywho, shifting from Dakoverload back to Adams..

I often wonder how many of these players social media accounts are they actually interacting with? Does anyone know?

Obviously if they're at home doing their thing, or waiting in line at the grocery store..sure. But wouldn't a high profile athlete, or said athlete's agent pay someone short change to tend to these matters?

Either way, I'd be excited at the prospect of giving up "if/when" capital on a surefire dominant player for this defense. However, I'm jot holding my breath.

If somebody doesn't want Jamal Adams because he would be too expensive or he would break the Cowboys budget, it's a legitimate point. I fully understand this point of view and respect it.

But people who say they don't want Jamal Adams because he's a box safety or he's not a playmaker or he's overrated simply don't know what they are looking at.

I wanted Derwin James in the draft because you could line him up anywhere and he would be good. Well Adams can do all of that and more.

The questions with Adams is not a football question. He's as good as it comes at his position. It's a question of economics.

You have a source for that, or is that a baseless claim?
I come in here with stats and links, where's yours to prove all he does is cover 5 yard routes?

But it's funny to see you move the goalposts right away.
First, he couldn't cover, and now it's "easy" to cover 5 yard dump offs.

"Adams does it all on the Jets' defense. In 2019 alone, he played 75 or more snaps at edge defender, in the box, in the slot and deep at free safety, and he did it all well. Adams has earned grades of 75.0 or higher as a run defender, tackler, pass-rusher and coverage defender in each of the past two seasons — at times even serving as the Jets' best edge rusher."

He plays in more positions than just a box safety, and when he's there he's a legit playmaker.

In the last two seasons, Adams has played 889 snaps in the box (42.7%), 578 snaps at free safety (27.8%), 303 snaps in the slot (14.5%), 234 snaps on the line of scrimmage (11.2%) and 74 snaps at outside cornerback (3.5%), grading well at each spot.

I mean, look at that 5 yard dumpoff coverage.

I'll give you props he stayed physical but he was running with avg speed Gronk and the ball was overthrown. Hence Gronk had to play defense. If it was thrown back shoulder it would have been a TD.

Unless the dude is playing for peanuts he ain't touching Dak's money bro. The salary cap exist.

Yea, I don't think anyone could cover Gronk if the ball was perfectly placed. But he was able to slow Gronk down from a free release.

Way I see it, it could be possible to have both here at the same time and on 2nd contracts.
Guys like Amari could be out in 2 years, or Tyron Smith could be retiring. Or they can restructure as needed.

If they could acquire and sign Adams this year, his cap hits would be really reasonable for the next 2-3 years, while he plays out his 4th and tender year and then his extension would kick in once 2022 rolls around.

Don't defer to me, educate yourself.

Watch some games before talking out of your ace.
rotlmao. OK bucko. Apparently a high percentage of us on here are in that group. You must be omniscient. How dare we not agree with you. Duly noted. NOW...can we stop the NARNIA BS? This BS isn't happening. He is property of the Jets for 2 more years. THIS RIDICULOUS CRAP is getting out of hand. This isn't Madden. I choose to live in reality and the facts. This is nothing more than Earl Thomas on steroids...all over again. Earl leveraged us to get a great deal. PLAYERS love to throw out the Dallas name to garner attention. FOLLOW THE MONEY. When a player says its not about the money, I CRINGE...ITS ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY. Earl got what he wanted. The Jets likely wont trade him until they are good and ready, if at all...THEN HE WILL GO TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER IN 2022...and I would be willing to bet, it will not be Dallas. YOU ALL ARE BEING DUPED AND PLAYED.

MM needs to convince Jerry to trade Dak for Adams. An even trade nothing more and nothing less. The Cowboys will be in excellent shape with Dalton. If you compare between Dak and Adams. Who is demanding a ridiculous pay raise and has become very arrogant and very self centered? Dak.

I will take Adams in a heart beat before I take Dak. Only time will tell what exactly is going to happen. July 15th is around the corner.

Remember, it's been proven a backup QB can win a Superbowl & become legends.
That's what I WANT DALLAS holding up this year.

Dak has become arrogant? He’s one of the most grounded guys I’ve ever seen. He’s not arrogant for letting his agent deal with his best interests. He’s been playing for peanuts (compared to most QBs) and has outplayed a lot of them.
Yeah, he has - except in games that count.

The amount of money that he was payed in the previous 4 seasons has ZERO to do with his next contract. If you or he is so pissed off that he got a chance to start as a rookie, at qb, as a 4th rd pick because of the money he was payed, he can be pissed at his fellow players because they are the ones that sold out rookies. So the NFL players wanted rookies to make crap, but as soon as a rookie plays well, its the owners that are supposed to pay the vets big bucks, but now they are to go and make up for the rookies that were in a tiered salary that was agreed to by the players??? Nah.... get pissed at your fellow players Dak, Jerry doesnt own you any additional pay for your first 4 years.

Everyone and everything points that Dallas will get Adams.. but am I the only one who thinks it’s not happening? It never does when all signs point to the Cowboys trading or signing that specific player. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone in our division gets him.
