If Dak struggles like he did in 2019, how long before Dalton steps in?

Dak did not play well vs good teams in 2019. If he plays under the tag, the Cowboys are not bound to him long term.
At what point do you think he would be pulled?
I think that Dalton would get a shot if the Cowboys struggle to a .500 mark after 8 games, or if the Cowboys were to go into a three game losing streak early in the season.
How much leeway do you think McCarthy will give him if he is struggling?

Dalton will not play a meaningful down of football as long as Dak is healthy. Any other belief just is out of touch with reality.

I think that Dalton will replace Dak week 5. Getting more specific, probably early 4th quarter against the Giants when we are up 42-3. He'll come in hand the ball off for a few drives. May see him a few more games with similar scenarios.

I can see both sides of these argumentative replies..

he wont be pulled many times but take the eagle game where he was struggling and allegedly hurt, yes second half Dalton should or would have came in that game, other games in spot time where Dak just wasn't getting it done no reason not to try and get spark from a backup but maybe twice in year barring injury , thats all i see..he should ever have come out that 2nd half of the 2nd eagles game which cost us a season, far too many open big plays down field that dak was not even in the zip code..thats what Daltons here for those games.. If the Saints can use 3 QBS over a season and sometimes in games more then 2 of them, so can we ..Garett did coddle Dak, there are games like season enders that meant noting or some 10-15 a game where we have no chance to win or had it in the bag, the backup should have came in, stat padding was part of the coddling as well as not creating a QB controversy..

i say you have to give the backup some time just in case..get him some snaps live

Why do you keep looking for a QB that never finish with a losing record in his entire football career, from Jr. to the NFL, to suddenly with even more weapons than last year, a better HC, and most important of all, a better defense, to suddenly be a losing QB?

So you would have changed QBs in 1990 when the Cowboys had a losing record of 3-7 to go to Babe Laufenburg. Well Troy went on a 4 game winning streak when Jimmy demoted Mike Shula. When Troy got hurt Laufenburg blew 2 games in a row to qualify for the playoffs in 1990. Coaching is very important.

Dak has never played lousy enough to be benched even when Jerry the Dumbo GM, and his puppet Head Coach Jason Garrett let him go out to win without a no.1 WR, no.1 TE, no.1 C, and his starting RB suspended for 6 games (2017 and 2018 seasons). With all the stupidity, Dak finished 9-7 in 2017 and 10-6 2018 with a wild Card playoff win. 2019 he had a lame duck puppet head coach, 1st year OC, and horrid defense. Dak finished 8-8 with his best statistical year and his 3 Pro Bowl appearance.

What alternate universe are you Cowboys fans living in?

It ain't going to happen. Get on board with the Dak Attack.

I don't think it's that far fetched. Dak has been known as a gamer who "doesn't practice well" since he has been here. Dalton can throw the ball as well or better than Dak and he won't be under game stress in practice. They both will be starting together with a new HC with a rep as a QB guy.

The intangibles that may make a difference in games don't so much in practice, (Maybe why Dak has the rep he does? idk), so it's predominantly footwork, technique and understanding in practice.

Most interesting QB situation camp-wise we've seen in what? 14 years?

It's a legitimate question.
If Dak plays like he did in 2019, at some point we have to try someone else.
This is why so many of us lobbied against giving him a long term deal.

I guess by looking at the opening post that Dak left his house and screwed your dog again looking at your intense hatred for him, you need to keep a better eye on your dog- Dak will make that complete pass you are saying he can't make

Dak was second in the league, next to Winston, in dropped INTs by DBs, while his fans are trying to argue his WRs led the league in drops.

If DBs can’t catch Dak’s passes, it’s no surprise his WRs tend to stop his behind the back throws.

Dak absolutely did play lousy when Zeke was suspended. Beat three bad teams, and lost to three winning teams and couldn’t manage even ten points against the wining teams. And he struggled horrendously against the bad teams, including lucking out on mistakes by bad secondaries like the Giants where Rod Smith caught a pass and took it wide open to the house for 80 yards or Beasley broke some tackles on what should have been a five yard dump off to like a 50 yard gain.
