That's a tough trade. While I value Adams more in a vacuum, Collins finally hit his stride last year and they lost Frederick to retirement. Don't want to roll the dice on a guy like Knight or Erving over the entire year as option 1.

Edit: Forgot about Connor possibly shifting over.

Collins is on a reasonable contract too. But I get it, if your NY you want a quality player at a position of need just like we do.

the Jets know this will never happen and is a nonstarter.
As usual..

We tend to overvalue our guys.

2 years ago..the debate was he was not going to ever justify us taking him like we did.

Now he's untouchable?

Our offense has plenty of talent at backup positions to move things around. Martin is easily capable of moving to RT. Will be All Pro there.

Badass could play RG while we groom him to be our future C. Looney can play C.

It's not all that risky. Our offense is completely overloaded with talent and the defense is starving for stable play in the safeties with Jones gone.

I would consider this in a player for player trade. Easily.

That would be bad, and I don't think there's anyway the Cowboys even consider it

It's a tough call. Collins is a beast. And it depends on the pick. I think Williams would be a better RT than he is LG, but IDK how he'd be at RT. I don't know if it's worth moving him, as good as Adams is. We have good players behind Collins too. IDK, I'm sort of on the fence here. My other concern here is we have an offense primed to take off. With our stud WR group and Zeke, I'd like to keep our oline world class to keep that going.

I think, if we go this route, a way around this could be move Williams to RT and bring in Ronald Leary. I think he's a FA now to be our LG and/or have McGovern as our LG as we have Biadaz and I think Looney taking over for Frederick. Then, if the Jets would take a 3rd with Collins, I suppose I could be on board with it.

Tony Pauline said on today’s episode of his podcast (Draft Insiders) that the Jets want La’el Collins and a pick in exchange for Adams. He says that the Jets don’t think they can get the Cowboys to agree to this price - however, the Jets may consider doing the deal for La’el only.

I’m out at this price. No way am I giving up a very good RT for a safety.

No thank you. Price is already slipping for the malcontent. Let it simmer and watch the soap opera unfold.

did Collins improve that much? I distinctly remember around here before the 2019 season (or maybe it was before the 2018 season) the consensus here was that he had not lived up to his promise.

I'm in the camp that REALLY wants Jamal Adams in the secondary. But, no way do I trade La’el Collins for him, even without another pick. The most I'd go is a 1st in 2021 and conditional 4th - 3rd in 2022.

That's sort of where I am, but IDK. It's tough here. I do think as it stands, our offense is in position to be truly elite. And our defence looks good as it is. I don't want to take away a key part of our offense away like Collins. Especially if there is not much in the way of depth behind it.

Oh hell no! That bad boy has already been through to much, not drafted because of a dumb situation. Trading one good player for another might work, but not that cat...he knows how he became a Dallas Cowboy, and the Jets want JJ to weaken his oline? It's no wonder Adams wants the hell out of there...their crazy!

I would be more inclined to trade Smith than Collins due to Collins back condition and age. He misses a few games each year. I think Williams is planned to move to tackle eventually and McGovern would move to guard. Brandon Knight also played well in reserve last year at tackle. We have some options to consider.
