I would be more inclined to trade Smith than Collins due to Collins back condition and age. He misses a few games each year. I think Williams is planned to move to tackle eventually and McGovern would move to guard. Brandon Knight also played well in reserve last year at tackle. We have some options to consider.

Smith would be an interesting option.

Tony Pauline said on today’s episode of his podcast (Draft Insiders) that the Jets want La’el Collins and a pick in exchange for Adams. He says that the Jets don’t think they can get the Cowboys to agree to this price - however, the Jets may consider doing the deal for La’el only.

I’m out at this price. No way am I giving up a very good RT for a safety.

No Deal!!
Give Martin or Smith who are older and more expensive but Collins stays!!!

Yep. I don't see how any trade can be made especially if players are involved. The Jets will always want more than the Cowboys are willing to give up.

If they’re insistent on getting players, I’m hanging up the phone and letting them deal with the problem they’ve created.

I’ll part with future picks, even premium picks, but that’s it.

I’m interested in building on and keeping what I have.

I wouldn't trade Collins for Adams straight up.

Me either, no way we trade Collins. We just signed him to team friendly deal and he might be our best tackle right now
did Collins improve that much? I distinctly remember around here before the 2019 season (or maybe it was before the 2018 season) the consensus here was that he had not lived up to his promise.

Yes, he improved that much.

Said the same thing in another post.

We overvalue our guys.

As soon as any interest is soon for our players..

people start getting gready and want the other team to get rigormortis.

There has to be value for both teams to want to trade.

Think Monte Hall here..

not Jack the Ripper.

I would think hard about this because I like McGovern coming in and Williams is better than the fans here give him credit for.

But then I would look at the fact that Dallas would take a 10 Million dollar cap hit for the trade for his bonuses accelerating, even before they paid Adams a sky high salary. Then I would laugh and think this was a sportswriter going for some sweet, sweet clickbait.

The concern I have is that we are already looking at replacements at Center and LG, and who knows how long Tyron Smith's back will hold up, so I hate to have to find a replacement for another guy.

Totally agree. The biggest thing for an OL is developing continuity over time with reps together. Deal Collins and you destroy the continuity and put yourself in a position where one injury puts you back in 2018.

Collins is still an ascending player. On a good contract - think its pretty much universal that the Jets can kick rocks.

I value Collins at RT as much as anyone But can’t help but think what a Dallas team with a dominant physical defense would be like. Almost want to make the trade just to see the possibility of having one of those defenses that makes offenses want to pull their hair out.

I read this thread, and I can't help but laugh at where we were a year ago, when a good number of people on this board were saying that Collins wasn't a tackle, and needed to be moved back to guard.

Good times.

Bill Belichick would do this trade, Jerry & Stephen - not so much.

Would also trade Tank, Awuzie & 2nd to Colts for OG Quentin Nelson + Malik Hooker.

Cowboys have too many 20M players on roster (Tank, Amari, Dak). More than any other team. One has to go.
