Have not seen much of the two but I think DiNucci has better legs and accuracy. Plus DiNucci is a cooler name and he went to my alma mater Pitt for a year or two. So, that seals the deal.

DiNucci has intangibles. The level of competition was lower, so there’s a caution flag, but he wasn’t a dink and dunk passer but still managed a 71% completion rate last year, made really good decisions, has a strong arm and can get out of the pocket. What’s there not to like? He also has the opportunity to learn under McCarthy, Kellen Moore, Dak and Dalton.

I can’t wait to see the kid in the preseason.

I expect they'll battle it out for a spot on the practice squad.

Whoever does best could potentially get the job.

If both falter, they might both get cut.

Nothing against him I just don't think having 3 quarterbacks on the roster is smart roster-wise.
It may be a more popular thought for most teams with the expanded roster size now.

I think 3 qbs is almost always the best way to go. I would want a franchise starter, an experienced backup, and a developmental qb with potential (pretty much what the Cowboys have now). It's nice if you're developmental qb can also function as the backup then you only need 2. The only caveat is I don't think it makes sense to use significant cap on a backup.

I'm not saying don't have 3 quarterbacks. I'm saying put one on practice squad and then go with Dalton and Dak. Your developmental guy can develop on practice squad. Practice squad is a luxury.

The issue with the practice squad is he can be poached by other teams and you don't have as much control over the player if you actually hit. For instance if Dinucci hits then you have control for three more years.

Why would someone poach him? Nobody even wanted to draft him until the 7th round......if he's on practice squad he won't hit. If he's stellar in preseason then we are talking about him and Dalton battling for a draft position. You should not have 3 positions dedicated to quarterback especially when your starter is 26.

Lest we forget, dak came to camp in 2016 a 3rd string qb. Injuries cannot be predicted. Kellen and tony were lost for the year before the preseason ended.
